Logical next step after No Elements 16:steamthumbsup:

Oops, missed one

At first I thought that the second pillar with the two-high platform is useless, since it's from the same height. Oh no, the ceiling height matters. It never did in Portal. That's exciting.
HadronFive 8 Jan, 2023 @ 12:59pm
I love that concept. I love how you store gravitational potential in portals to use it somewhere else .

This map was really fun to solve once I understood the objective of the puzzle! This is definitely an advanced mechanic that's hard to figure out, or even come up with a strategy for. But once you understand, the execution is really simple!
Hint: There are 4 columns with portal surfaces, each with varying heights. You'll need to chain together the height of multiple columns to progress toward the exit. The key is that the portal must be on the ceiling of one of the columns to combine its full height with another column. The only problem is you can't enter a portal on the ceiling. Unless you were able to launch yourself at it... :p2cube:

Seemed completely baffling at first, especially because I was trying stupid things with the wall panels, which turned out to be entirely useless... a mean little red herring. ;)

The solution is simple enough if you've played the previous maps in this series, but forcing it several times makes it harder to discern what the overall goal is. An interesting design.

If I hadn't done the previous chambers in this collection, this one might have seemed hard. But having been properly trained, it was pretty easy.

great chamber. im moving right along.
lfairban 14 Jan, 2018 @ 8:58am
Great chamber. Not too hard.
zeo1337 13 Jul, 2017 @ 7:55am
Took me a sec to figure out but once i did COOL
qrioso 10 Jan, 2017 @ 2:24am
Nice one. Moves repeated until you reach the highest point. Thanks
zigzagtenniscoe 29 Aug, 2016 @ 3:05pm
Cool concept. Solution was easier then I thought it would be, I believe we had to do this in the last chamber in the series so I guess that would be a "tutorial" for this one. :)
SpielSatzFail 18 Mar, 2016 @ 12:19pm
Just when you think the no elements chambers are starting to repeat themselves and nothing new is coming up... right then you have to change one more portal while flinging.
Phew!

The simplest is often the the most genial !
Pamsy 19 Dec, 2015 @ 5:51pm
Very fun! Much easier than it looks. Hint: use excess momentum to exchange ceiling and floor portals. [\spoiler]
God-Father 9 May, 2015 @ 12:34am
poitendo, I know that this is not the way, just beat :)
Waj 25 Mar, 2015 @ 2:31pm
I really like the design of the map, really beautiful with the lights and glass, well done! Awesome title btw!

@GodFather I didn't think of that way, I just did a quad reportal ;)
but i like yours

Up, down, up, down, up, down... ughhh I'm going to get dizzy.
Blazier 12 May, 2014 @ 8:42pm
So simple yet so clever.
Real Medman 10 May, 2014 @ 12:14pm
Very nice ;)
Almisuifre 24 Mar, 2014 @ 7:49am
Perhaps easier than previous "no element" chambers. Clever anyway, thank you.

@p0rtalmaster : your addition is a good explanation.

looking for more like this one, anyone have any suggestions?

I had a hard time doing it without the reticle .
Ale 31 Oct, 2013 @ 7:30am
Great concept! Thank you!
eMbAh 1 Oct, 2013 @ 4:48pm
I love this map and concept
The Sojourner 7 Sep, 2013 @ 4:42am
There's a common theme throughout the "no elements" chambers, and thus the difficulty can't really get harder than medium (unless of course some crazy ninja/speedrunning skills are involved).

I could write out all the math involved, but I'll simplify it insted: 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = exit
herbusmc 30 Jul, 2013 @ 12:10am
I can't even imagine how long this one would have taken if I hadn't played all the previous ones, but I'm sure it would have been a long, long time! Brilliant map. Thank you Juggler. (Damn it feels good to solve these things without cheating!)

Great Map, I skrached my head for 5 min, had an aha moment, then enjoyed completeing it

Difficulty: 5/10 (MEDIUM)
After playing #16, this one seemed a lot easier than I would have thought if I hadn't played that one. Still, great map, interesting concept. Thumbs up.

ONE OF THE BEST!
ktait 16 May, 2013 @ 10:41am
Awesome! Couldn't have done it without quck save though (never did use quick load, but would have paniked if it wasn't there).
kimist108 10 May, 2013 @ 8:33pm
Yea me!
esmo 5 May, 2013 @ 12:41am
fun map. panicked the last fling and had to redo, cheers
paul.delong 25 Apr, 2013 @ 9:32am
I really dig this map. It did not seem to be possible at first, but once I figured-out the trick, it was great fun. My only complaint is that it was over much too quickly. :-)
Geneosis 22 Apr, 2013 @ 2:05pm
Awesome momentum addition ^^ And I like the apparent symmetry in your maps :p
baphomet 3 Apr, 2013 @ 10:05am
Very nice!
elfarmerino 26 Mar, 2013 @ 6:48am
Reallly loved this - beautifully designed with a pure focus on the core puzzle.
caitseith 18 Mar, 2013 @ 8:26pm
Same principle as no elements 16
CHJunior 16 Mar, 2013 @ 10:23am
Great map!
NiclO (- - ) 15 Mar, 2013 @ 2:15am
Great map! Cheers! I enjoyed that very much!
Solid Jim 9 Mar, 2013 @ 8:48am
For my money, the best map in the collection. Even though the key concepts had already been introduced, it still looked completely impossible for longer than I care to admit.
AgentFire 8 Mar, 2013 @ 9:54am
Cool one. The whole thing about no elements and kinetic energy.
[♥] OMFGeoff 7 Mar, 2013 @ 6:59pm
Juggler you have a very fitting name xD
Innocentive 7 Mar, 2013 @ 11:30am
Absolutely gorgeous flinging puzzle! Thanks...
Hen_ham 2 Mar, 2013 @ 9:52pm
Amazing. And yet so simple when you fully understand the dynamic.
