If you're looking at this map, please note I am currently working on getting this updated for the latest expansion. This will include adding volcanoes and fixing other things.

I haven't purchased the DLC. However, as long as you have the three required DLC that I've listed it should be alright. You'll need to hand jam that new civ TSLs to get those working.

@james, It's been about a year since I've played the game. However, you just enable the mod and run the mapscript in worldbuilder. When I was building the lua script for this, it was me constantly making changes, restarting, and running it in world builder.

I am really not understanding the lack of appreciation here. This map is awesome!
One suggestion would be that you should add more mod civs for east asia and africa because of their extremely large space. Just to make the early game more fun. I personally think JFD and Antagonise's mods are really good for this.

I've loaded the game up and tested to verify. As it stands, no pearls resources on reef features can be improved. I'm going to look into whether this is something that I can easily edit via a rule change when it comes to the xml for either features, resources, or improvements.

I've run into an issue where the pearls on the reef at the very bottom of the persian gulf, and the salt on the floodplains just south of where the euphrates runs into the gulf, are unimprovable.

How many civs do you reccomend I include to fill this map? because I don't like it when there are a lot of free space

Yeah I'm glad the minimum city settle distance was reduced, I think I've just gotten unlucky with Germany moving their settler then getting blocked by Amsterdam. One solution for this is (I believe?) one of the YnAMP maps has a game rule to forego starting settlers entirely and just spawn AI cities in-place to prevent them from wandering. Maybe something like that could be considered in the future? Also I'm glad to hear Mecca is under consideration! Great job on the map as a whole.

@Dray, part of the mod for the map includes reducing the minimal city settle distance to just two tiles to facilitate TSL between Germany and the Netherlands. The AI will still choose to settle in other locations though from time to time. As far as a Mecca being the TSL for Arabia, I've considered it when developing the map and may just make that change in the next update.

In fact, if you plan to change up some of the capitals, Arabia would be better suited starting in Mecca rather than Cairo.

I noticed Amsterdam and Aachen are too close together for both to be settled, is it possible to perhaps swap Germany's capital to Berlin or somewhere further East to avoid this? Maybe as a game rule or something?

Realistic resource placement has been implemented with the latest update at about 90% completion. There are still some elements of randomness to fill in the gaps. China has also recieved a touch up as well as a couple other regions.

Work has kept me completely busy the past week. Aiming to get a good push and update released this weekend. The update will on top of realistic resource placement, also include a face lift on the Chinese TSL.

Unfortunately my game crashes during loading. I have just this mod, rise and fall, the multiplayer scenarios, Poland, Aztecs, and Vikings: Traders and Raiders enabled.

Unfortunately the new loyalty mechanic makes it nearly impossible to populate western Europe as much as I'd hoped since Amsterdam, Paris, and London start losing loyalty almost immediately (Amsterdam flipped by turn 20, they were eliminated soon after) -- great map, but hopefully some mods to nerf loyalty can make crowded Europe maps once again possible.

Using this mod makes the game crash after classical age everytime I use it, resources plots are not sitisfactory since mostly are wheat, rice and rock

This is a pretty fun map, thanks for making it! Apart from the amount of resources as you are already working on it, my only real criticisim is that I've seen so many oasis in some parts of the map. Even if you're trying to recreate a habitable desert area, the number should be a bit lower, not too low but low enough that most of an area, like north of the Himalyas, isn't overwhelmed with them. Otherwise, great work and definitely having fun with the map!

@Procyon, Maps like these take a lot of work-- especially with the amount of detail I try to pump into it. The code for the mapscript is about 40k lines alone and growing with the realistic resource placement being worked into it. I'll consider creating an 'Europa' themed map in the long term, however, my priorities for now remain on improving this map in terms of realistic resource placement, touching up specific areas, and possibly adding a western hemisphere to this map. Thanks for the request though!

Update: I've added three progress shots on the realistic resource placement in the description of this mod above. Making a lot of progress and fully suspect an update to be released in the next couple days.

i have a problem.everytime i want to play this mod the whole games crashes after i settle or while it loading.i wonder what it is because other maps of the same size do it just fine.please have somebody an idea?

@Eteria, All the base/expansion game civs that are selectable for the map are supported. Civs that are not supported have been removed from being selectable. You can easily add support for whatever civ you want by following the readme included in the mod folder.
