Merry Christmas and a happy new year, ya'll!
The galaxy is full of color and it's extremely vibrant. On earth the atmosphere blends colors hand causes haze so it dims colors. In space that's not the case so it should be far more vibrant. The space ships themselves could also use some more color.
hi! i am working on a bigger overhaul for stellaris. i would like to include your mod + rework some assets + add new assets. your mod could lay the foundation for further expansion. i would give full credit to you of course. would you be ok with that i.e. could i get your permission for it? :)
I just checked and can confirm they show up as they should now :)
Yeah no rush. Sometimes you just gotta be in that spirit/mood to do modding stuff
And very weird, when I looked for the graphics files before (plantoid_hivemind.dds etc) I didn't see them in my folder, so I assumed they wouldn't be there unless you own the DLC. But I hadn't started the game yet and starting up the game took a while after 6+ month, could be that the files just hadn't been downloaded yet. They are there now, but tbh, the update is done now and I'm still lazy, so I'll see what I can do whenever I find the motivation to go back to adding more colours.
Also you dont need the dlc to add new colors to the Ancient Relics race. The artwork exists inside of your game files. You just need the pack to actually unlock the ability to select them.
And since you asked, I got a comment on my fix (that I forgot about) that this may have been breaking the new portrait from the dlc causing it not show up in game.
Which you can fix even though you do not own the dlc since the code should already be in your game. I figure you just have to copy whatever is missing into the file you overwrite.
And finally, thank you very much for making this. Variety is the spice of life after all. I'll hide mine now that its not needed anymore
Would have loved to add more colours for the new Ancient Relics race too, but currently I sadly just can't afford the DLC. orz
Please report if anything breaks again and I'll try to update in a more timely manner. ;)
I solved your problem though.
You need to go into your 00_portraits_main and add vanillas #L06 city code else the game is missing some of its code so it just shows the normal city and since you cannot see the ground see the ground on a city world they didnt bother giving it a ground so its just a bunch of pale pale flat blue.
I added the code to test it and it works proper with that little bit
