I went a bit overboard with the amount of subtools I have on this helmet, but I was learning, so.. haha -- that's why you can see that backsides of alot of the pieces.
As far as being able to see both sides of it on Sketchfab (When you move the camera inside the head, etc...) -- That is a sketchfab option and yes it does use more resources as far as I know, but that has nothing to do with how the helmet would be rendered "in game"
Great question though! I wish I knew more so that I could give you a better, more concise answer! I hope this helped some though!
Ultimately I had to just call it finished, because sometimes you can fall into the never ending black hole of tweaking and tweaking things and just never finish it.
That said, your’s and everyone’s feedback is greatly appreciated / noted!
If you re-visit this, please let me know if you manually removed your comment or if I accidentally deleted it!? :-(
If you removed it, that is 100% fine. If I deleted it, I am very sorry and it was not intentional! I actually really appreciated the compliment and feedback!
I removed my two replies to it for now, so it doesn't look like I'm talking to myself XD.
It has even more detail than the one below on many areas.

Sorry! I accidentally linked a previous WIP that was 1 step before the one in the above pic.
Thank you!
Here is one angle of them in high poly form (before being textured to look metal) -
I'm curious if you still think they need more detail here, because I felt like much more would've been a bit overkill.

I dont think you are going to disagree with me that from round 1 to round now, the quality standards for tennogen have increased. When people post thing's that are just reskins of regular skins, people go "wtf is this, did you even try". Im not saying that about this, but it's undeniably a better sale especially when it cost about the same as a skin that comes with a helmet.
I dont exactly know why you got all offended by what I said, but im not going to be one bit surprised when this good design get's buried by 30 other items that get published the day the next round get's announced.
I’m curious where you are seeing the unpleasant angles on the anchors though!? I’d love to try to fix but I can’t if I don’t know exactly! ;-). I put a bit of height and metal edge wear on them, some of that may be reflecting light oddly?
Please let me know if you are able! (Feel free to PM or reply here if you are able!). Thanks so much for the in-depth feedback!
Personally I think the "chin" also drops a little further than necessary as well.
Good start though! Some more polish and I could definitely see this in-game!
The beard and the ponytail are supposed to be tentacles and no, the only “shiny metal” on the helmet are the side anchors. The dark blue areas are a bit softer and shinier than the light blue and brown. If you look at regular hydroid’s helmet, it should give you a better idea of what material each color is aside from the yellowish tint which is metal in this design. :-)
Good Job!
Oh and I was totally kidding below when I said that no beard = not hydroid! Haha, I totally forgot that your design didn’t have a beard! You also didn’t have the luxury of knowing what hydroid prime would look like when Rorqual was released (if I recall?)
@tartarus_drawk thank you! - Hydroid isn’t too bad to get if he’s still on Earth? I know some frame drop locations got switched around in a recent patch. I’m super flattered that my design would make some one want Hydroid!
Also just to clarify, the screenshot I have with the darker / brown / grey colors are how the helmet would look on hydroid prime should you use his default colors.
@Crackle2012 : So no need to feel pressured to make a skin. As long as people like what you made, it would sell well regardless it comes with skin or not.
One thing people love about tennogen skins are how much more detailed the skins are than the base game.
Frelling!!! Why you no like cheap quick crop!? Hahah :-/
I will add a sketchfab and some better pictures with the body ASAP!
Thank you Davy Jones!!!
Thanks to all for the compliments and critiques!!
Constructive criticism is 100% welcome here! ;-)
Especially hydroid, because the Rorqual skin's textures dont fit base game hydroid textures when you try different colors
