The Akaviri could just be a rare near-extinct race, like the Falmer. These sorts of mods contribute to headcanon/c0da roleplay. If I want my Akaviri to be canon, they are my headcanon. Bethesda canon is merely a template for you to customize the world.

conthom25, Akaviri is a land of beast people in modern times. The men of Akaviri are extinct, unless you make c0da fanfic about your surviving Akaviri men ;).

I think everyone is getting confused between Akaviri and Tsaesci. Tsaesci are believed to be the serpent-like people, while most lore suggests the Akaviri were just a different race of man.

igor5991, if the Akaviri are snake people, why does the engraving they made of themselves in Sky Haven Temple depict them as humans? How come when they interbred into Imperial nobility, nobody manifested snake features? How come the Fighter's Guild and the Blades, which were both founded by the Akaviri, have absolutely no snake related iconography in any of their architecture? How come in The Annotated Anuad, the Akaviri are described as Men?

Humanoid doesn't mean humans. It was shown in oblivion mostly, that blades akaviri from blades were more like wierd lizardfolk. But bipedal, and with mostly human-type frame, so they could me considered humanoids. They were more like stout argonians. Still, love the look of the character
