... users or server admins reporting you doesn't make a difference, since the entire VAC system is automated.
Personally, I wouldn't take the mod anywhere but Singleplayer, or locally hosting a server and playing with friends who have not only the same mod, but all mods compatible with the host's. I haven't experienced it before but I imagine conflicting scripts would be problematic at best.
One thing I've been reading about, if you want to really make sure you're good, is set -insecure in your launch options, which prevents you from joining a VAC server. I have no idea if that helps or not.
Key take-away. To be on the safe-side, your options are:
1.) Single-player
2.) Locally hosted server
