Thats what you call a glitch. The game is programed to delete your char and game over. it doesnt know what to do with the items because you respawned.

I'm not sure what changed but i've tweeked around with a few things and it seems to be working in order now, sorry to bother you, if i figure out how i fixed it i'll let you know.

Yeah i tried this mod ingame and its working as intended. This mod only changes permadeath and pixel drops, and andding respawn animations for hardcore. I can try to make it patch item dropping, even when it drops all items by default.

Not sure why that happens, maybe you have mods that prevent you from losing items after death?

Yes, you drop all items as you die, this happens in vanilla hardcore.

Hey there! so i'm loving the idea of the mod, the only issue is that when i respawn, sure i lose 100% of my pixels but all of my items are still just sitting there all fine and i can't work out why?

Can anyone make a mod that makes a new mode. You respawn with nothing and the cost to respawn is a constant rate instead of 30%. That doesn't make any sense. Cloning your body should be the same material price no matter what.

this basicly just makes it an enhanced Survival mode and basicly negates the idea of "hardcore".
Hardcore in all sandbox games is a perma death mode (exept gmod)

I can respawn just fine as a modded race as well, It just doesn't play any respawn animation

actualy i was at the time playing a custom species that did not have a respawn animation for it and i did not recive a crash, it just played the vannilla and i am not looking forward to losing all of my items during a playthru so it really does not matter

Your game would crash because your custom species did not have a respawn animation for hardcore, this mod for now has respawn animations for the vanilla species and works for them now.

You could tell me the custom species you are playing as, so i could add a respawn animation for it!

i dont quite see how it would affect modded species due to it not affecting the modes that the character is on
