Wow awesome the best of the best is right here well done:steamhappy:
FallenShadow 20 Jan, 2022 @ 6:37am
I have to say this probably the best ship ive ever downloaded on the workshop, even now with a couple of basic tweaks, it still works perfectly for whatever i need, whether it be land transport, mining both wood or ore, or base defence. 5/5
Dosboy 17 Dec, 2021 @ 5:05am
This is freaking awesome!

Thank you S.T.A.R.S- SSSV and krazywulf1983! @krazywulf1983, when near the HV, press P on the keyboard and on the main tab you should see a managed button near the fuel and o2 sections. This would allow you to add fuel from your person or a cargo system. I hope that helps and thanks again!
GromGrok Dagoor 19 Jul, 2021 @ 2:59pm
how do i fuel this ship?

Thank you Bonedog!

HEYYYYYYY! Saw the video Jeff. Nice work keeping it level 5! and btw. I really doubt they are going to implement the thruster thing cause it had sooo many bugs.
jrandall  [author] 9 Sep, 2020 @ 9:53am
Thank you Tato Dias, icewolfen and Lord Sapito! @icewolfen, thanks for the heads up. I missed that when refitting this. I have now removed the two blocked thrusters but added 1 more thruster on the rear and a bit more storage. I also corrected my wrong storage number I had listed on the post. New info is at the top of the post. Thanks again all!
Lord Sapito 8 Sep, 2020 @ 8:37pm
They're not going to mandate and actually recommend against using that feature (unblocked thrusters).. They've definitively stated it's bugged (a game engine limitation with how it does updates to status or something).. so you'll just have them randomly turn on or off or be unreliable, even if unblocked.. Just sayin.. this comes up on the discord forum every month.
icewolfen 8 Sep, 2020 @ 1:28pm
This is a real joy to ride! Moves amazing to be a T1 HV. There is one thing tho.
You might be aware of it, but the front side thrust and the thrusters pointing forward on the roof is two small thruster placed in front of each other. Works very well at the moment for people that play with allowed thruster blocking. But if Eleon implement the changes that makes thrusters require open space it might be a problem in the future. Not sure if the hover engines is affected, docking pads might need to be moved one block forward. Other than that it's a highly recommended starter HV :)

Jrandall, thank you for the update!!!
jrandall  [author] 1 Sep, 2020 @ 10:50am
Thank you Farseer. I got it added now. Thanks again!
Farseer 31 Aug, 2020 @ 10:12pm
They are all completely redesigned and meet the modern realities of the game. Completely redesigned inside and partially outside ( but the appearance is immediately guessed). CPUs in all ships are made. Removed unnecessary elements like rocket thrust controls and some other elements. Put shields, (where possible). Everything is in accordance with the latest version of the game. It's not just external changes.
Farseer 31 Aug, 2020 @ 10:07pm
Hi. Yes, all the work to improve the ships (mostly old models, where there is no compatibility with the CPU) is carried out on the current version of the game. And of course, the work that I do, I want you to post on your page, the site on which I make a redesign of the design. Thanks. And so it is with all ships. I try to make them as detailed as possible, so it can take a long time. Thank you for your ships, you set the trend for how ships should look in General in the game.
jrandall  [author] 31 Aug, 2020 @ 7:43am
Thank you all! @Farseer, I will check it out. Also to all, I have not yet updated this to any newer version of the game. I may take a look at it and see what it needs and get new storage extension systems on it. Thanks again all!

The Scarab-HST has been my starter go too land vehicle. Will this this updated for Alpha 11 cpu requirements at some point?
Boten Red Wolf 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:32am
Is this still updated on the newer alphas?

Curious because mine just crawls at about 5m/s but I wanted this so hard because it's a great early game vehicle.
HeadHunter 21 Jan, 2019 @ 6:38pm
This is a fantastic vessel and truly suits my needs for planetary activity. I might upgrade the armor eventually, and I swapped two of the cargo boxes for a fridge and a detector, but the adaptability of this design is one of its strengths. Plus, it looks nice.
jrandall  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 12:31pm
@andreykl, I understand. I guess what i was thinking is the SHM does what the HST does + has a clone generator, harvester, room for a med bay, and is cheaper. Then at player level 10 you can add 6 mining drills and do that too if you want. However I would consider it more of miner too. Also, very sorry for my slow response to your original question. I must have missed it and didn't see it till another person commented. Thanks again!
andreykl 17 Jan, 2019 @ 10:00am
>I do how recommend to take a look at the Scarab-SHM over the ST.
Well, I didn't pick SHM exactly because it is for mining)
I prefer a separate cheap vessel for mining mostly because I end up transporting it in small CV and there is no point in multipurpose vessel for such case and except for specialized miner I tend to abandon HVs at all...
jrandall  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 6:57am
Thanks andreykl and charabis. I will have to modify the post. I believe the SHM was always cheaper than the ST. It really is newer are has a lot more function vs the ST with clone gen, place for med bay, detector, and set up for mining. It was newer and built in survival to do pretty much everything but combat. Thanks for the heads up. @andreykl, very sorry, I must have missed your comment. The SE is definitely low end. Those all in one hover modules are not very powerful and have 1/2 the lift height as standard hover modules. I do how recommend to take a look at the Scarab-SHM over the ST. It is my person pick to date for the HV I would use in game for mining, etc. Thanks again!
charabis 17 Jan, 2019 @ 2:09am
Looks like a recent update has changed this one and the SHM significantly. Both are now level 5 unlocks, and this one now takes MORE resources that the SHM in survival mode.
andreykl 9 Nov, 2018 @ 5:43am
Switched to Scarab-HST from Scarab-SE. Overall nice vessel, but I had to move gatlings 1 block up to allow installation of harvester and it is unclear if it is possible to substitute rear engines with higher level ones (better efficiency, but longer).
jrandall  [author] 11 Sep, 2018 @ 7:38am
Thanks Ranger_Ric. That is my current choice as well. Cheaper + easy mining upgrade + health upgrade and clone chamber vs the Scarab-HST. Thanks again.
Ranger_Ric 20 Aug, 2018 @ 6:15pm
I'll try the SHM next play through, I'm always at least lev 5 to 7 by that time anyway.
jrandall  [author] 17 Aug, 2018 @ 6:37am
Thanks Ranger_Ric and Typhir. Sorry about my very slow response Ranger_Ric. I must have missed your comment. This HV was my go to HV for fresh game starts myself but I now prefer the newer Scarab-SHM for a couple reasons. Mainly because it has newer features or places designed to hold these. For instance it is a unlock level 5 (instead of 3), but does come stock with fridge, clone chamber, and has a designed space for a medic bay and 6 mining drills. Also it is a bit less resources. You may want to check that one out as well. Thanks again!
Typhir 16 Aug, 2018 @ 9:54pm
An amazing little vessel and always my goto immediately when I get to level 3. I was brought here from both Spanj's and Mr. Spicy's terrific recommendations of it. It is so easy to upgrade and retrofit it for anything you need during those the early hours in survival and extremely light on requires resources while maintaining great aesthetics.

Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy all of your designs.
Ranger_Ric 16 Jul, 2018 @ 2:46pm
This is always my first vehicle and usually built by the end of day two. I get rid of two cargo boxes and replace them with fridges, add shutters to cover them and the constructor. I also add two spotlights to each side and a light under the bottom in the center. A detector goes into one of the front weapons slots and a turret on top to keep me safe while mining day or night. On day four it's obsolete and I scrap it but it is well used those first couple of days. Can't imagine a better first vehicle!

Here from Kage848, very satisfied. Well done!

Thanks Lonewolf, CheekyShenanigans, and Smokie24[HAL]! :)
Octavious 29 Jun, 2018 @ 9:29pm
One of the best HV's out there for starting. Can be a moible base and upgraded. Exccllent build!!!:steamhappy:
CheekyShenanigans 19 Jun, 2018 @ 2:36pm
I've been using this in survival with my new A8 game, and it works great. As others have said, it is easily upgraded as you progress. My current version has mining lasers, a multi turret for deconstructing poi's, a detector, and two passenger pods for my friends. It has been very easy to modify because the original design is streamlined and well thought out. Another great design, Mr. Randall :steamhappy:
Lonewolf 19 Jun, 2018 @ 7:51am
It comes in at level 3 but stays with me for right into late game easy to install upgrades. Other upgrades are fast depending on current needs. It is possible to remove cargo boxes with mutitool. Without messing up the rest of the vechicle. So other blocks can be added in. I normally switch out two cargo boxes to a fridge and extra turret ammo on large planets. Later in Alpha 8 it also possible upgrade sensors using the new detector. I just pull one cargo box and it slot in the detector. None of this changes the outside design.
Lonewolf 19 Jun, 2018 @ 7:35am
Also note that blocks around the door are sloped on the inside. So the all the cargo blocks can still be reached through the door. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1416312080
Lonewolf 19 Jun, 2018 @ 7:23am
@jrandall. I really like it a lot. In answer to the back protection. It is easy to add a vertical door hatch at the same time the top turret upgrade is fitted later on. See https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1416302457
jrandall  [author] 15 May, 2018 @ 2:49pm
@Sills, it wasn't really meant for going after POI's etc, but it's quick and strafing around a lot you can avoid stuff. But be careful. Adding a turret is recommended for drones. Thanks for comment.
Sillls 15 May, 2018 @ 1:22pm
Cool HV but what's keeping somthing from shooting you in the end and taking out all your storage?

Operator Hoot 18 Mar, 2018 @ 9:24am
This is a brilliant little HV! Very stable, fast, and highly customisable. You can have one of these armed to the teeth and with upgraded armor for POI assaults, then, switch a turret and a cargo box, for a harvester/drill turret and a Harvester box and you've a perfect gatherer. Or you can just have two of them... they're that good!
jrandall  [author] 11 Mar, 2018 @ 6:48am
Thanks the comment Alex Mihai. I didn't add it because it needed player level 5. That's the only reason. I wanted to put one in, but player level 3 unlock was the key thing. Thanks again.

Great little HV... used it in a couple of games, usually added a Minigun Turret and a couple of Rocket Launchers, and tend to swap out one of the cargo boxes for a Harvest Box so I can attach a Harvester, as well as another cargo box in exchange for a couple of fridges... you get used to the nose up flying, and it tips over less than a couple of constructions I have made... lol - hence using yours... cheers for the effort in putting it together, I appreciate it dude! :o)
