Does this work still? Or does the author need to update it? If the latter, please do!

Can version 2.5 be used?
ekoparker 13 Feb, 2020 @ 3:15pm
soooo does this still work?
Quanto  [author] 25 Jan, 2020 @ 4:50am
@AdamWillianLaurie My largest frustration with how this game models government is that it has the worst aspects of Bourgeoisie Democracy and the worst aspects of raw authoritarianism hardcoded into it. I've been trying to do exactly as you suggest but have run into one brick wall after another.

The one thing that annoys me about Stellaris is when you have a "Direct Democracy", you still have a leader! You could argue that maybe they are just "elected representatives" who represent your species to others, however, if that is the case, why do they have mandates? Paradox didn't think that one through it would seem. Maybe you can find a way to address it with this mod?
NerdCuddles 3 Jan, 2020 @ 2:07pm
What is that "Contested Homeworld" civic from?

When will this MOD be updated? 2.2 Great Stalin system is needed... Need a Theory of Socialist Construction of a Country
LNSS 25 Dec, 2018 @ 10:32pm
Does it matter if the game cant do classless? Shared Burden has it right, when the upkeep is the same for all pops regardless of class, it makes no difference whether the game has two or more job categories, it's "to each according to their needs, from each according to their skills" in practice.
TwoForty 25 Dec, 2018 @ 8:06am
Actually, nvm, took a while to get used to anyway, sorry for the disturbance
TwoForty 25 Dec, 2018 @ 8:06am
WHERE IS OUR LEGUIN UPDATE?
01A3-91C-2789B11F "Vala" 21 Dec, 2018 @ 7:40pm
like, the hive minds seem to have only 2 classes
01A3-91C-2789B11F "Vala" 21 Dec, 2018 @ 7:38pm
It really does seem like you can customize the heiarchy, could probably put everyone into one class tbh
-=PR=- alliecat☭Ⓐ 19 Dec, 2018 @ 5:39pm
Having actual hands-on experience of how the new stratification system works now, the problem isn't just the name of the ruler stratum. Even with shared burden (or utopian abundance) and equal citizenship, it still takes years for an organic pop to move to a job in a "lower stratum", even though moving to a job in the same or "higher" stratae is instantanaeous. That seems to imply that there's still disincentive to move in that direction, if not material then social and/or psychological. That's an issue. While the generation that overthrows capitalism might retain some of the internalised stigma that they grew up with regarding manual labour indefinitely, a society that's been socialist for generations should have no such stigma. But given that there's a tradition that halves "demotion" time, I assume it would be possible to have a civic cut it by 100%?
01A3-91C-2789B11F "Vala" 16 Dec, 2018 @ 5:59am
is there no way to modify the code. like "-100000000 rulers ratio" or something?
01A3-91C-2789B11F "Vala" 16 Dec, 2018 @ 12:04am
because i sense a problem with integrating the mod to the newest version of stellaris
01A3-91C-2789B11F "Vala" 15 Dec, 2018 @ 11:36pm
Hello comrade, got a discord to discuss ideas for the mod?
kolokommouna 13 Dec, 2018 @ 4:39am
@alliecat☭Ⓐ if you use the shared burden civic they are called administators
-=PR=- alliecat☭Ⓐ 11 Dec, 2018 @ 5:47am
Having played the new system for a few decades, I'd suggest modifying the Horizontal Society civic to include removing stratae, or if that's not possible, making them ornamental like they are for machine intelligences
-=PR=- alliecat☭Ⓐ 6 Dec, 2018 @ 11:09am
Hmm... might it be possible to remove the ruler class? If the ruler class can be removed then having specialist and worker stratae doesn't have to imply stratification in practice, given shared burden & equal citizenship. In fact, the new jobs system might make it possible to reimagine that in a classless society, pops represent a number of worker-hours per month rather than a number of individual workers, so it doesn't even have to retain division of labour. That's how I reconciled the Asphodel Collective's enforcer pops in the dev clash as representing the performance of militia functions by each member of the society rather than representing a capitalist-style professional police force
Quanto  [author] 5 Dec, 2018 @ 2:45pm
I'll need to get familiar with the new mechanics, learn what manner of economic systems are represented mechanically, and what will need to made through fluff. Will Le Guin even be able to create a classless society with it's new mechanics, or does it require a stratified society in order to represent the different professions.

I'm honestly worried that Le Guin will make it near impossible to represent a classless society ingame, much less mechanically.

I'm not very optimistic about this update.
-=PR=- alliecat☭Ⓐ 5 Dec, 2018 @ 2:04pm
@Fvallejosm: it currently works fine, just ignore the out-of-date warning. I am wondering about the time between Le Guin coming out and Quanto getting the mod updated though (assuming it takes at least a few days), given that the changes in Le Guin involve stuff that's so fundamental to the mechanics of a lot of its civics
aciel.samael 3 Dec, 2018 @ 6:17pm
Le Guin will affect every mod that touches planets, planetary buildings and the like.
aciel.samael 3 Dec, 2018 @ 6:16pm
@Fvallejosm - yes it works ust fine right now.

It looks like 2.2 is going to include a civic for a horizontal society out of the box, and seems to be really open for modding so i have hope for the update to this mod when it comes.
Palestina Libre 2 Dec, 2018 @ 10:23am
So... people are complaining to update this.

So as the title says this is on hold until le-guin, my question is, does the current version of the mod actually work at this day?
