I feels like it should belong to spy...
Maybe a bit modification and its sapper.
Or then it could be that you need to be right next to sentry to attach cables or some sort of.

Probably will have to reskin for it to be used, but if it does get used as a hacking device it probs couldnt' DISABLE the sentry... maybe gives it like 20% slower firing and turning speed though...

Steam should add this it would give engies more fun messing with the other teams sentry but spys would be no longer needed plus there is no way on making the sentry stop being controlled by the other team but it like the idea and steam still should put it on

how about its like exactly like the wrangler except
-can only be used on opposing sentrys
-15% slower sentry firing speed
-15% slower move speed

Gives other teams sentries a shield (like the wranglers)
Sends out a laser beam (like the wrangles)
Plays a tf2 while being active

it's a good idea, and i like the automotive type theme with it. it would probably be a good wrangler reskin though.

If it had a rechargable ammunition like jarate and only stunned the sentry for the equivalent of unwrangling, I think it would be a very interesting addition to the engineer equipment and wouldn't be game-breaking at all.

The way I'd see it working is that while you're wielding this and aiming directly at a (non-wrangled) sentry, the Rustler would disable the enemy sentry - much like how they shut down for the losing team at the end of a round, or how they are temporarily deactivated after having been Wrangled.

It would give the engy more of an active role for the team's offense, rather than just building sentries and sitting around waiting for an enemy to wander by.

Easy way to counter this would either Wrangle the sentry, or just cause the Engy to change weapon / stop looking directly at the sentry.

I don't know if Valve will ever add this, but I very much like the idea of engies having some way to counter sentries other than destroying the things. If it worked on other Engy buildings (stopping teleporters from recharging, and/or stopping Dispensers from giving health and ammo), that could be awesome too.

Sounds cool, there's probably some kinda downside we or valve could come up with. It would need to have limited ammo. Maybe it could be used as a long range sapper type thing, where when you activate it, you freeze for a few seconds while hacking, vulnerable to enemy fire. An enemy engineer could possibly stop the hacker with a wrench swing or two. Great idea, the engie needs more secondary weapons. :)

I like this. It gives the engineer more of a reason to be on the front lines. I could see this opening up whole new possibilites of playstyles.
