Can confirm with @charonx, even when you don't have this as the commander profile you still get research points from med buildings.

Is the Medical buildings grant research points effect meant to apply to all Commander Profiles? I started the game with Rocket Scientist Commander Profile and noticed that my research suddently jumped by 100+ Points/Sol with the Clinic. Without the mod it stayed where it was...

So YES it's working beacuse for example at night I have Infirmary's turned off and it goes automatically down.

The values for gained RP are based on the performance of each building in a 1:1 ratio.

OK so they are generating RP but no way to see what value. I can only guess by substracting the overall value with the partial numbers listed in overview.

For example right now with 2 Infirmary I get:
836 RP Total
=
500 RP Sponsor
50 RP Genius
100 Explorers
=
650 RP Base
186 RP Medics?

The research bonus from medical doesn't seems to work.
Neither in basic Infirmary or the Med Arcology Tower - I don't see any added RP in overview.

BTW, you may want to be aware that if it's the same as the one in the mod tools, your medical buildings give you 0.1 research per day. So, yeah, don't think it will actually replace your research centres, to say the least. It's really just an example.

[WPS] Well if you are going to develop a game with a modding feature you pretty much have to develop mods for it to test the modding functionality actually works as designed. So might as well make them something interesting then offer them to the public on release I guess.

[WPS] Probebly part of the MOD comunity Libbary. Like here is a few Example mods to how to do it. A lot of moders beggins whit looking at other mods (or dev made mods) for how to make mods. I had at one time made myself a mod in RimWorld using another mod as the base for my mod... no its not on steam libbary, this was before that and it didn´t work anyway...
