I have also stumbled onto this type of formation- two Segundo Volantes and a Roaming Playmaker (or Ball Winning Midfielder)... I've used it with 4 at the back, and 3 attackers when I'm a heavy favorite.

But when I really got results with it was with two Shadow Strikers instead of two traditional forwards. Only problem is that overall- lots of injuries due to the pace and running.

An excellent tactic for any team who finds themselves loaded at back but lacking depth up front!! If you just do not have and cannot acquire a good sweeper, you CAN move the sweeper to the middle DM position and set him as anchorman or halfback (I prefer HB). Worst case scenario (no sweeper and not enough DM's) you could also pull the sweeper up to middle CD and set as cover duty...not quite the same but still works! Overall a great tactic! @miniJedi are u sure because it's impossible replace the sweeper with the Ancor man

The tactic is good! But i fid it works even better defensively with an Ancor man (instead of a sweeper). Have you tried it?
