Check the ownership of the blocks. I think if you paste it in in creative it is neutral by default and I think pirates don't shoot at neutral ships. There's nothing special about this ship.

So I tried landing this on a planet. The cockpit neatly separated itself in a cute little escape pod as the rest of the ship exploderized into a crater.

@jonathan What @FurtherV means is that he doesn't know how you did the graphic for the blueprint-like outline of the ship. I am also intrigued by what the answer may be as I have tried turning the contrast up and multiple other things in my paint program, and I still don't know how you got a perfect outline of every edge. The only conclusion I can come to is that you drew it manually.
