I get several issues unfortunately. Pawns will eat anything that is in a fridge now rather than keep policies. Also they can't eat with prisoners (if you want that) since the room is a considers prison barracks.

Is there a way I can make this work with a hospital that has individual rooms? Something like this: https://ibb.co/qj86rqB Except I would add doors in the obvious places? As sort of a lifehack, would the mod work if I added the doors but also put a regular hospital sleepings spot in the hallway? Or would the mod make it so that the meals in the hallway are then bound to that one sleeping spot that's also in the hallway since that is technically the only hospital bed in that "room"?

So RimFridge is seemingly dead, is that mod necessary for anything? Or is it just so the food isn't just left on the ground?

Not enough people were complaining for me to look into this

Fixed.

subscriber count was going up and this mod wasn't even doing anything.

Please someone update this, it does not work at all anymore, pawns get food from anywhere but the food in the dining room.

Has anyone tried this with Prison Commons? If so, do prisoners correctly prioritize food in the Commons (which is literally "a room with a table, in a prison", so I'm hoping yes?)

Colonists still focus on going to grab a meal from a shelf in the freezer rather than the fridges in the dining room, unless i draft and undraft them while they're in this process, then they'll focus on the fridge instead.

1: When getting 'room food' how does it handle the fridge that counts as a wall? Will it properly get that from dining room instead of going to freezer or god forbid walking all the way to the kitchen, get food, then walk all the way back through freezer to the dining room to eat?

2: Any chance you know if this causes issues with multiplayer? I know most people don't stress MP support but I figured I'd ask if you knew.

Dunno if it's a current problem or a possible future problem, or even if it's just Steam not updating my stuff, but I had similar yellow errors for other food mods. I'm currently troubleshooting a giant modlist, so I'm kinda just reporting errors as I encounter them.

Somehow this no longer works reliably.
My colonist often fetch food from "left side" (which happens to be my freezer) and walk tens of tiles.

@Fortuna I'm actually having the same issue and was coming here to report it. The errors popping up only show this mod and spams missing Bool in the dev log. But I'm using the release version, not the unstable one AND I'm positive pawns were eating normally earlier today.

When I disable this mod and reload the game, majority of my pawns run for food.

Did you install ISMA - Better Combat AI? That's the only mod I changed and it changes NPC AI, wonder if it's overwriting something in this mod and breaking it. I'll try it out in a sec

I mean this mod only selects room food first, and if it can't find that, it reverts to normal behavior

I guess posting just in case anyone else was looking for an answer on the same issue isn't okay anymore. Just thought it might help other people out, since the patch notes for unstable said it should generally be okay with mods and others might be looking for what was causing the issue. Wasn't trying to be one of those people who demand fixes, just wanted to help.

This seems to be broken in the current unstable beta. My colonists won't go get food even when they were starving, not even raw stuff from the freezer.

Since Smarter Food Selection is now discontinued, going back to vanilla AI for food selection is painful and if I only use this mod it only fixes that when tables are around from what I understand.

i dont know if this was intentional but if you have food in the dining room then pawn will only go eat those foods and ignore their food restriction. For example, if you have nutrient paste in the dining room and you only allow your pawn to eat lavish meal, they will go for the nutrient paste instead of the lavish meal sitting in the kitchen/freezer

I think this is messing up vanilla food prioritization. While people should only go for nutrient paste if there are no meals available, people are instead eating both at a 50/50 rate. (Both are in the dining room)

@Lemonboy_Free - Would you try that same test again, but put 2 or 3 separate stacks of meals in the dinning room. I've found that multiple pawns can't seem to get meals (at the same time) from a single stack, even if that stack contains enough for all pawns. The first pawn seems to 'own' the stack until they get their meal. Once they get their meal, the stack becomes available to other pawns.
I may be wrong. I haven't tested it. It was just something I observed recently when I forced 2 pawns to get meals at the same time, from the same stack. I do use allot of mods, however, so the behavior I saw may just be caused by a mod interaction.

This phenomenon occurs in the situation that only three are used for of Harmony, Core, Room Food.

If there is multiple meal stack in the dining room, colonists of the number same as meal stack go there. https://imgur.com/UUh7lO0
"Consuming meal" task useable to the same stack. But, colonist avoids reserved stack by other colonist somehow.
We should use Stockpile Stack Limit (Continued) than we prepare the same number RimFridge as the number of colonists. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is some thorough testing. That’s weird that only one would go for room food… that means it works but not for everyone??.

I would say to try that setup without other mods.

Only one colonist went to the dining room, although I used this mod.
Except for that one, all the colonists as usual aim at the nearest meal. (even if detour path.)

This behavior is the same in both 1.2.3062 and 1.3.3159 and 1.3.3167.
Is this behavior right? Is this behavior bug?
I think that I want all the colonists eat from the same meal stack of the dining room at the same time.
