anyone know of a mod similar to this besides "straysthralls"? I mean my main love for this was being able to make my towns seem at least a little more alive. anything along the lines of being able to have thralls sit on chairs.

Modder is gone, this mod is dead, sorry to tell that, you can try to replace the thralls placeables with pippi's thespians eventually .. it's a bit longuer I agree but you have more control + you can save appearances and settings to replicate it.
That's the best I can give you
