(Hey, miracles do happen.
The last game update was over a year ago. And my suspicion is that the devs have abandoned the game to it's current state, so I doubt you'd have to worry about future game updates breaking mods again.
I am delighted at how well-used this Mod has been, and even though a vanilla version is now available intend to continue support as best I can. To further support the Mod's longevity, I have also dropped the Build Cost significantly, to bring it closer into line with the vanilla version now available in-game.
If I can, I will at some point work out how to have my Mod surpress Dust - I had hoped simply to copy the class of the vanilla item, but unfourtunately this then creates the vanilla pad (overlapped and in the wrong orientation). Watch this space...
@admbraden - I'll look into the offset issue. If it's an easy fix, I'll update the Mod.
Otherwise, still using it, feels a lot more "frontier outpost" than the new vanilla one.
Increased dust protection for nearby buildings would be logical next development.
I hope you don't mind my critisizing so ofton, but I tned to only critisize mods I really like and care for. ;)
Additionally, anyhting that requires Drone routiong (etc) means 3D modelling work using Blender and so forth (which is, regretablly, beyond my current ability).
As the screenshot you posted shows, people can put together 'modular facilites using the various items - a lot of people use my Walls Mod to enclose thir pads (hence the inclusion of a Wall node that can carry power)
I would like to do more work with this Mod in the future, but it will depend in part on what Modding Tool updates are released.
I think, if you could add storage space and chsrging spots for drone it would improve the pads a lot.
I'm goign to keep making new Mods, and will update this one over time as the developers / publishers relase more Mod support. Stay tuned!
If anyone else has a simialr issue, please let me know!
You make some very good suggestions on the rest, but all of the work discussed requires use of 3D modelling to define the various areas (something beyond my current ability). I'll defiantely consider these shoudl my abiltes continue to improve. The Mod as it stands represent a careful and imaginitive use of found Entites, nothing more.
The additional benefit of keeping the Mod 'simple' is that it is less likely to suffer bugs or alterations when the game is updated - something especially important given well over 4,000 people are now using it.
@Miravlix - There are no 'problems' with pathing, but Drones and Rovers will avoid the area the rocket lands on (centred on the large hex of rough concrete). Personally I find it realistc - in the real world you don't take shortcuts across runways, etc! Practically, I cannpt currently avoid this effect, as the Mod relies on the existing properties ofther entities used.
@tanker_in_tan - Thanks very much!
@Griffon - TheLight is an essential part ofthe Mod,in that it gives allows the Pad to be placed and indicates its orientation. Maybe as the develpers increase Mod support I'll be able to make a different version. The Wall Node is included as I know a lot of people add the Walls (see my other Mods)
@Merced - This Mod uses 'foundEntities'already included in the game. I may learn some 3D modellign at som point, and may thenmake a new version. For now, I'm limited by the Entitiesalready available.
