I really like the concepts of this mod, so I made a private branch for myself a while ago. For 3.6's Frigates, I'm going to shift Schiffjaeger over from Corvette and leave Corvette with 4 section choices.

seems like irony doesn't particularly like .bak duplicates. granted, it's irony issue but not sure why you would want them part of the upload anyways, especially with how only some files have it

I have repeatedly confirmed that this mod is bugging out war attrition in 3.3.1. from ship losses that have the added sections, and it is also bugging out ship disengagements. It's not completely game breaking, but I will have to uninstall until fixed. Thanks for the great mod, though.

I am running this mod right this moment. Tactical Ship Sections works perfectly for Stellaris version 3.2. If you're running into issues,then the issue does not lie in Tacitcal Ship Sections.

Please update your mods, the launcher swears a lot and the game crashes when I load your mods. Please, can you fix your mod, the mod does not want to work correctly in the new version 3.2

Apparently there was a ship section rework at some point. Still seems to work fine, but the balance is a bit off now. An update would be great.

Man can you fix battleship center section? theres large slots + missiles when theres should be medium slots, u take one stock/originial section, and please remove those additional slots which are not visual... Theres already something like this in NSC...

I see you removed all small sections for battleships, have you considered the idea to add some "broadside section" with all small weapons? With the Bridge stern I can slap three afterburners on it and turn the ship into a close-range gunship.

Does anyone know of a mod - or perhaps the author might be able to figure it out - so that instead of fixed sections, a player could choose how he wishes to outfit the ship from top to buttom? Instead of having fixed slots like 2S 1M or 1L 1M 2S each section would have a size just like in let's say Escape from Tarkov inventory, where a gun/clip/grenade/medkit has a size and takes amount of space?
S/P - 1 slot
M/G - 2 slots
L/H - 4 slots
X - 8 slots
?
This way a player would even be able to fit only ripper cannons on a battlecruiser because he can, or only missiles, or a combo however one see fit? Same for utilities like shields/hp/armor?

I can confirm that the mod DOES still work for 2.7.X, despite having the warning that it is outdated. As long as you obey the compatibility that is mentioned on this mod's page, then it should all work fine.
For reference, I'm currently running this mod along side the suite of Diversity mods, Forgotten Queens, and several Dynamic UI mods. So far have experienced no problems that aren't related to the poor design and coding of the core Stellaris game.

Bro if you dig in the ship section floder you will find the old 3d model section cut in the 1.7 versionof the game.

Haven't played this yet but plan too, looking at the images I only have one critic the carrier and supercarrier cores for battle ships don't look properly balanced one Hanger probably isn't worth 3 PD and a medium sheild/armor slot.

Don't get me wrong, NSC is excellent, but I certainly prefer this to NSC. I like my Imperial Star Destroyer-style combined battleship-carriers, which those guys at NSC seem to really dislike.

Btw I always mix in some carrier Cruisers for Strike craft support, ven before the buff, since the strike craft pervent enemy PD from targeting your torpedos, making them really effective.

@Juicetin The problem is that destroyers are pretty weak gameplay wise since they have neither al lot of Hp nor evasion. Their only real strength is to counter corvettes with their tracking. And this mod doesn't really fix that issue. So going over to cruisers asap is still a lot better, and I really don't see any reason why only the carrir core should have PD.

If you only have T1 Cruisers you probably still have plenty of destroyers to use for PD, and once you have T2, Picket Bow + Bulkhead Core + Picket Stern seems decent for PD if you're really anti-carrier.
Also if you haven't tried strike craft since the most recent patch they have been revamped, so you might not dislike them as much.

I agree with Locomotor on that, the Cruiser should have some PD options othe than the carrier at T1. Maybe just replace 1 Small Slot on the Missile bow/broadside bow?

yes but for cruiser you got defense and hangar in the same set i dont like the fighter based stuff

@Locomotor79 defense slots are the best on destroyers and cruisers, the feature of the mod is that all classes can, theoretically, fill almost any role, but some specialize on some role.

Slight Balance change on carrier sections: They have less utility slots now (the same as any normal sections) since we have carrier computer, they don't need to be as tanky.

Wew, this was easier than I imagined, updated to 2.6 with a few new features:

With the advanced combat computer tech you will now unlock:
- Line combat computer for corvettes
- Carrier and Swarm computer for destroyers (go destroyers!).

I'll also need feedback if the carrier sections are overpowered now since strike craft received some huge buffs on this patch.

Looks like it's broken with 2.6.1. No ships have weapon slots. :(
