Sadly my son Alex TD @uuugggg died June 2025. Can anyone tell me if I could/should report this to someone? And I know he made a lot of mods that people used and seemed to depend on. For some reasons, my miing specialist wont go on ore designation unless forced. Will only go on stone designation.

This mod won't consider refugees colonists, so if any of the refugees have a higher mining skill than all of your actual colonists, nothing will be mined.

I d love to see a config to disregard deep drills since their output is only affected by the deep drilling speed, not the skill of the miner; thank you for this mod

This mod is very good but nearly made me go insane after i forgot about it and started to wonder why only one of my clonists was mining, still 10/10 would go schizo again

Is there a way to make this mod completely disregard deep drills? I have somebody on mining and he seems to be ignoring a deep drill despite having 14 mining. Turning off the skilled mining yield setting entirely fixes this, but I'd rather disable it only for deep drills.

Hey, any chance you can do similar for surgery? I know there's https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=857350593 but the problem with it that there can only ever be 1 surgeon, while with mod settings like you have you can setup that % of best docs can do surgery

Can the mod have a option to prioritize deep drills first then check if all deep drills are already been used and the rest of the miners goes for rocks to mine in the map?

Well, it is a rather specific situation. I don't collapse rocks that often, and even when I collapse them, usually my lead miner's right onto it, so I didn't notice it. It just so happens that currently, my lead miner is also my lead builder (with quality builder installed), and my only cook, so this was the first time I actually noticed. Thanks for the update!

Love this mod! Been using it for ages. However, I just noticed that collapsed rocks are only mined by the best miner. Considering collapsed rocks don't provide any resources, any miner should be able to mine them, right? Not a big deal, though.

commenting here because it's the most topical place i can think of. i have been using this mod and have reached the late-game stage where i am doing exploratory mining and trying to deep drill for steel. i am unable to prioritize deep drilling - pawns will start to walk to the drill then randomly drop the job and go do something else. when i can get them to deep drill, they do it for a few ticks then drop the job. i have tried playing with all the mod settings with no success. at this point i even tried removing the mod and the problem persists. i am wondering if anyone else has this problem and has an idea of what might be a conflicting mod or fix for the game state

i wish i could use it but with constantly just causes my colonists to refuse to mine ive tried changing every setting ive tried changing % values but nothing ended up working it may be a mod conflict who knows, its a cool idea but rimworld mods go brrrr

So uhm, you mean always let all mechs mine anything? Because if you wanna exclude mechs from mining, just, don't assign them to mine, right?

(Expansion features are a mystery to me)

Oh okay, I see. For anyone having issues with colonists not mining, In the in-game mod settings--there is a checkbox "ignore best miners that are busy." Check that, and you should be good.

I use a mod that changes all the rock faces, and stuff god Minerals and Minerals Extra and when I use this they can't seem to distinguish normal rock from metal, thats sort of why I was asking, cause my pawns seem to think hewn rock for exsample is priceless.

There's a sorting thing done by ore rarity + patch size, which is defined in the xml files ( probably not mentioned in game, but, from any experience you'll learn that gold veins are rarer than steel veins )

Suggestion: Allow less skilled miners to do work if best miner is incapacitated (i.e. paralysed or otherwise unable to walk/manipulate.), or not assigned to mining.

That's some weird feedback down there. I wonder if they realize this mod had options that are configurable... It's existence is the solo pic of this mod! Not sure how anyone could miss it...

I've been using this mod since 1.0. If I have a personnel issue, it's only for 1 sec until I go into mod setting and easily change settings. You can disable it in game without relaunching too.

I love your mods Uuugggg! Thanks for creating them! I use almost all of them lol

Bad mod , BAD BAD MOD , BAD BAD BAD no no use mod , TLDR if you wanna train miner's or use a larger colony that say HAS 1 GOOD MINER but a few shitty one's but you're still doing it, and it Call's it "VALUABLE" but fuck off Compact steel isn't so valuable they my MINER with level 4 WILL DO IT but my miner with level 3 Doesn't, TLDR use this mod if you wanna sit around early game and get headache's From staring at your 2 Extra dude's doing nothing.

Just a suggestion, but maybe lower the limit for the "best" miners?
The default setting of 100% made me wonder for over a week why the hell my miners were next to NEVER doing drill work, until noticed that this setting basically told them to not do unless they're the BEST on the map...
