[sound F/X: testing] …Interesting. I think that's actually a bug in the game; for internal structural reasons, the game fails to notice that the effect and the talent are connected, and if it did notice the connection, it would be behaving the same way as the addon.

Since people are apparently depending on this behavior, though, release 1.1.0, just pushed out, reproduces the behavior by manually decoupling the effect from the talent. We Apologize for the Delay.™

An issue I've encountered is that activated wards will disappear if the item with the ward ability is swapped out, not the case originally.
For example, use apply ward from a totem, the ward is now up and running, switch to another totem - ward is now gone.
