needs update
ChoGGi 23 Jul, 2019 @ 12:53am
Apparently it breaks wasterock depots:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/464920/discussions/0/1642043267246633216/

Not that it's needed anymore, they added a building that does this.
Celtich 23 Jan, 2019 @ 1:55am
is this still working? the building is not showing up in the prefab list for me :/
ChoGGi 2 Oct, 2018 @ 1:22pm
DA introduced packed mods when uploading to workshop, and it changes some image paths when it detects a packed mod even if the images are in-game ones.
Lone Wolf 23 Aug, 2018 @ 7:56pm
Ok thank you.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 23 Aug, 2018 @ 5:32pm
Should be all fixed now. Haemimont broke something-or-other so i just repackaged the game icon with it. Oddly I never had an issue when running from the mod editor dir, which is why I didn't fix it up front.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 20 Aug, 2018 @ 6:19pm
I'll take a look soon. Guessing it ate my settings.
Lone Wolf 18 Aug, 2018 @ 10:23am
Same for the Waste Rock Storage. All you see is the name, and nothing else.
Betoni 18 Aug, 2018 @ 9:22am
It doesnt have an icon ingame.
Lone Wolf 14 Aug, 2018 @ 5:05pm
ok thanks.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 14 Aug, 2018 @ 3:56pm
the prefab should be available from the start

the tech to unlock it is fairly far down the engineering tree (waste rock liquefaction)
Lone Wolf 14 Aug, 2018 @ 11:51am
How far into the Tech tree is it to research this. I have not gotten it just yet.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 4:45pm
Updated for Da Vinci.

The base game waste stockpiles now allow pickups of wasterock until you research waste rock liquefaction; at which point they will only take waste rock for conversion to concrete and no longer supply it.

The mini waste rock stockpiles still exist as before, RC transports can pick up/drop off from them as before, so you can set up your chain either for 'onsite' refining or collection and conversion.

Sorry it took so long, I'm a busy lady. Thanks all, enjoy.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 7 Aug, 2018 @ 5:42pm
Good news/bad news.

Haemimont changed how the wasterock depots work so I don't need to have my own waste rock depot anymore. However their code doesn't handle drone pickups very well, so you can wind up having a depot with a negative quantity of waste rock once you research the liquefaction tech.

*insert shrug emoji*

So, it may take a few days to tidy things up. it should show as compatible now, but I've got some work to do before its ready.
Lone Wolf 7 Aug, 2018 @ 3:42pm
Will we this updated soon?
MissedFrizzle  [author] 22 Jul, 2018 @ 8:53am
I'm unfortunately only a neophyte coder on my best days, and 3d art design is way beyond me (I tried). Reskinning is about good as I get.
DevDokus 22 Jul, 2018 @ 1:35am
looks great but couldnt you took defferent visual appearance then using the polymer factory ?
Ergrak 4 Jul, 2018 @ 5:29am
How do I install this?
Garrish 17 Jun, 2018 @ 8:37pm
This mod is amazing by the way. I feel like it's a must have with the way that waste rock is handled in the game. I totally get what you are saying about the in game dump not allowing pick up, since it's coded differently than stockpiles. I'm new to the game, but now I have mine sorted out and I am using the mod added stockpile and not the dump. The in game dump is rather ugly and the extractor makes enough of a mess without having to have piles of rock sitting everywhere anyway.
Garrish 17 Jun, 2018 @ 8:29pm
Yes, I can confirm that they will pick up from the stockpile with the mod.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 5:41pm
The drones should pick up and drop off from the mod-added stockpile without a lot of fuss, but the waste rock dumps are coded to not allow normal pickups of waste rock and the few times I've tried to overwrite their default behaviour they usually break pretty badly.
Garrish 17 Jun, 2018 @ 2:13pm
I let my dumps collect waste rock then I destroy the dump and the bots will bring all of the waste rock to the plant. The drones won't pick up from dumps in my game, but if I destroy the dump, the rock remains on the ground and the bots grab it up.
mgg1959 27 May, 2018 @ 5:07pm
Why bots don't send waster rock to it to work?, mine is nearly always without rocks to work
Jragon 27 Apr, 2018 @ 11:55am
Thank you
MissedFrizzle  [author] 26 Apr, 2018 @ 4:24pm
From my testing everything works as expected with Opportunity. Drones won't be able to pick up wasterock from the waste rock dumps still, but everything else should otherwise work.
Jragon 26 Apr, 2018 @ 12:35am
Does this work with the new Opportunity update? My drones don't deliver any waste rock to it anymore.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 15 Apr, 2018 @ 2:27pm
the update for 180 stockpile should be up now. shout if you have any problem - should be an easy code change.
Agent654 15 Apr, 2018 @ 1:43pm
Ah - thanks, sorry, the "assumption" was that a stockpile was going to hold the same as the others within that category. But it'd be great if you could bump the storage cap back up to 180 per the other stockpiles (if anything, out of continuity)

I know the plant itself has a lot of internal storage, which is super helpful, but it was easy to overlook the stockpile hitting an artificial limit.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 15 Apr, 2018 @ 10:53am
Not a bug - I had originally limited them to 60 back when the plant only processed 25 wasterock/day instead of 100. The building stops displaying more because it doesn't hold any more than one layer of 60, basically =)

I'll probably bring it back up to the 180 as per default, as one of my other buildings (Seperation plant) consumes up to 240/day and the logistics are more of the balance factor than stockpiles anyhow.
Agent654 15 Apr, 2018 @ 8:02am
Seems to be a bug with the stockpiles, they stop accumulating waste rock after the first "layer" is stored there - perhaps there's a problem with it not reporting an actual/capacity like all other stockpiles?
Roi Danton 14 Apr, 2018 @ 5:10am
Can not start the game when this is enabled :(
MW 10 Apr, 2018 @ 8:31am
I just send waste rocks with the rocket back to earth, people on earth are so stupid they will pay for all kinds of crap.
Mile 9 Apr, 2018 @ 11:41am
YOU ARE A GOD
DoctorMO 8 Apr, 2018 @ 8:23pm
I like this design. If the tech produced this building in the normal game, then we'd have a more balanced tech overall.:steamhappy:
MissedFrizzle  [author] 8 Apr, 2018 @ 10:44am
If you installed the mod after you started, you'll want to restart.

If it's installed you can bring the prefab as soon as you like, even on the first rocket. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's an option.
El Presidente 8 Apr, 2018 @ 10:40am
I just started a new game a few days ago. I haven't gotton my first colony up and running yet. When does this mod start working? As soon as sol 1 begins or is it possible I am still early enough to have it in this game? I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world If I do have to restart since I haven't got my first colony going yet.
Buntkreuz 8 Apr, 2018 @ 9:17am
The point of such mechanics is, that there is no solution to it, so it adds decisionmaking. You shouldnt hook up too much on a little word. The keywords down there are "easy" and "design flaw". A mechanic that gets an easy solution becomes pointless. A mechanic that has a twist that cant be resolved by simply putting down a building makes decision-making meaningful. I recommend to read the interview tih the Rimworld creator. He added the exact same mechanic to that game and refused to give into the community to just add an item that would get rid of a problem because it would just end in a design flaw. For reasons. And reading these reasons one could only see that it would be easy mode and nothing else. But ok, i have no problem with that, which is why i cited you claiming that its a horrible mechanic, which it is not, it has a solid point and makes sense.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 8 Apr, 2018 @ 9:02am
I added a need for power, water, and (most importantly) logistics to move the rock from generation sites to the liquefaction plant. Oh, and you need cargo space and money to move the prefab to mars.

The default requires none of that. once you get the tech, your drones wiggle at the waste rock stockpile and magick it into concrete. It just locks it behind a (randomized) research amount, which means that the super amazing waste rock crushing can cost as much as a space elevator.

Anyway, I've got a bunch of folks telling me it's a cheat code and a bunch more telling me it's useless so *shrug*. If it doesn't suit you, don't subscribe. =)
Buntkreuz 8 Apr, 2018 @ 8:34am
"The reason I made this was because the game mechanic (as it stands) is really badly done. You shouldn't have to sit on piles of rock half the game and cram it everywhere. It doesn't add anything to the early game apart from tedium, and it doesn't add anything to the late game apart from irritation at your drones (and a bunch of concrete)."
What you did was a prime example of adding a design flaw. You only wanted to provide an easy alround solution without any twist involved which is basically like adding a cheatcode and nothing else. Quite a lot of developers aknowledged already that people often want easy solutions to mechanics and so cause big problems in terms of design. Tynan from Rimworld provided an example in an interview on when NOT to listen to the community and named the dirt mechanic.

There are BUG, after use, the basic functions of the transporter will not be able to
大头怪 7 Apr, 2018 @ 8:04am
有BUG,用了之后,运输车基本功能都不行了
casual 7 Apr, 2018 @ 1:04am
Great idea, although I guess it rebalances the liquifaction tech from must-have to low priority, like the other plant-building techs. I think what base game should definitely borrow from you is that RC transports can ferry waste rock. As for the plant itself, personally I don't mind base game feeling of being overwhelmed by rocks mid-game pre-tech, it reminds how garbage disposal is actually a massive problem on Earth. I see some other commenters don't get that feeling, and think this plant is useless, but I on the other hand think it is overpowered :) Although power, water and maintenance are of course not free, so maybe it's balanced well
QbeX 6 Apr, 2018 @ 10:05pm
Great mod, just what I needed in early game, hated those waste piles all over my colony.
Phoraex 6 Apr, 2018 @ 10:00am
Oh ı understand we can deploy it only in a new game. Sorry
Phoraex 6 Apr, 2018 @ 9:57am
There is no Waste Rock Liquefaction Plant building. How can i build it
MissedFrizzle  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:43am
Automated.
< blank > 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:31am
Is this automated or does it require a worker?
Stress!!!!! 6 Apr, 2018 @ 3:41am
Thank you for this "early ingame" version of rock to concrete. I will certainly giving this a try. At least this will help the all over the places piles of rock.
MissedFrizzle  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 9:15pm
The reason I made this was because the game mechanic (as it stands) is really badly done. You shouldn't have to sit on piles of rock half the game and cram it everywhere. It doesn't add anything to the early game apart from tedium, and it doesn't add anything to the late game apart from irritation at your drones (and a bunch of concrete).

If I added the entire current wasterock mechanic to the game as a mod, 99% of the feedback would be exactly that - and I wouldn't blame them.

so, if it doesn't suit you...*shrug*. Enjoy stackin them waste rock piles. =)
mweins29 5 Apr, 2018 @ 8:24pm
Silence and I seem to be on the same page. I'm all for as many people creating mods as possible so please don't take this as me putting you or your work down, but as of right now this mod seems redundant because waste rock isn't that huge of a problem until later on and usually by then you're unlocking the waste rock tech which allows the drones to do it in their downtime.
