Does the mod need an update for patch 2.8.2.1?
And if the focus was correct, the child should get correct education trait even with wrong guardian.. I didn't touch that part. I only added events to select focus and guardian.
But you get elusive shadow. That's lv4 intrigue. You don't get that randomly. (Well, you can, but very unlikely) The child would need intrigue focus with good intrigue guardian to have a good chance of getting that.
And if the child have that modifier, then the mod should be doing nothing with the child. No auto focus or guardian selection. No notification. No popup. You have to do those yourself.
Focus was Thrift he did it said "Player managing education"
So should I just leave it be when I activate the mod?
But even if you toggle manual education and get the modifier applied, that only tell the mod to exclude the child from all events added by the mod. There is no popup. You will have to manually manage the child like in vanilla.
You can change the guardian. But if the mod already selected the child focus, you won't get to change it.
I played with the mod already and this isw hat I meant :
So I clicked manual education for my heir ( I was midas touched ) and I didnt get any pop ups or anything and ce came out as an elusive shadow.
To exclude a child, guardian, or the selected character's children(incase you want to manage that character manually) right click on their portrait and select corresponding menu. That's it.
Also, groom the heir yourself. The mod helps, but AI aren't that smart in using the education trait intervention. My mod doesn't touch how the guardian or education work, only how the guardian and focus get selected.
That's pretty good!
- Add targeted decision to toggle exclude/include the target from guardian pool. This should stop the character from being assign new ward by the mod.
- Add targeted decision to toggle exclude/include the target's children from the focus and guardian selection. Toggle it on yourself to stop to mod from managing your children. If you haven't toggled it on yet, PAUSE before the mod fire, toggle it, the continue.
- Added _include_me suffix to all targeted decision. You can now toggle your own options.
As for being unable to toggle manual education for yourself, I didn't add _includ_self in the targeted decision. I'm going to add it in the next version, along with the other options.
Though I might add the option to:
1. Exclude player from guardian pool to keep player ward slot free.
2. Toggle manual education on for player children on the child birth.
Both only work after this batch of children though.
I also unsubscribed from this but somehow i recieved notification :|
@lx - It is not exactly vanilla. It's from Conclave DLC. In vanilla, only guardian education level matters. But with Conclave DLC, guardian have more influence on the children, being able to influence trait gain with various events. Check to education (conclave) on the ck2 wiki.
@Dreden - Probably because heretics got converted too fast. I might adjust the religion/culture check again later, maybe make them refer to direct liege instead of top liege.
reading the text makes me think that the vanilla game has some feature that i have missed to see - the education(learning) of traits. i see it as a complete random bs. so if there is actually some way to control it id like someone to explain it to me or point me to a guide.
But once the heretics became independent, they will convert their independent realm very quickly.
As for converting to the top liege... Well... That's the meta isn't it? Every liege wants their realm to be of his religion and culture. Religions and cultures will die out quicker. Characters converted in a generation or two. And province converted much quicker. It does make the game much easier for everyone though
- Education focus selection now also use scoring system! It should be smarter, preferring focus with multiple positive traits instead of just picking first valid focus on logic check order. Attributes are now considered too! Though at much smaller weight.
- You can adjust mess around the modifiers in the BEDU.2 event to change the selection preference a bit. I have made a weight adjustment block there.
I highly doubt the current weight adjustment give the best 'balance' since I only tested this for ~20 years in a heavily modded game. So please give some feedback.
You will have invalid check sum with any game play related change you put in the game with CK2+. The way to fix it is to edit the 'supported_checksum' in the ck2plus.mod in the mod folder to match the new checksum. But then you will have to update the checksum manually with any smallest change.
Personally, I just ignore it. I play with multiple mods over the CK2+. The checksum thing is never valid fore me. The game run just fine.
- The childhood guardian now exclude LV4 education guardians. You need them to educate the older kids! The selection is also done by checking 'suitability' score instead of checking for traits seperately.
- Martial education now prefer guardian with fighter skill! This mean they check 3 factors instead of 2. I had to make another scoring system to support the more complex martial guardian selection logic.
The variable updates will run on start up! You no longer have to wait for the yearly pulse. You will experience performance drop in the first few months after startup on new update though.
