@mzilli No worries and thanks, that's a good call! Cutting in half or even more the time required for the debris to expire on their own in the AI controlled systems could possibly improve or maybe even fix the GUI freeze altogether. I will test it today and see how it goes!

@Cookie Thank you for the feedback! I've tweaked this a bit; now the decay will happen faster in AI-controlled systems (unless they have a War Memorial starbase building). Hopefully that'll cut down on the lag.

I love this mod, I truly do. It really adds up the depth to the systems and engagements. However, I've noticed that already 50 years into the playthrough I get random freezes, I'm afraid that's caused by this mod since I just tested without it now and do not experience them. I've played on a 800 galaxy size. My specs are quite high with i7-11800H and GTX3080. One thing is that you can clean up your mess in the system, but this does not account for the AI mess that it is probably not addressed so I had to let this mod go.

if i had a super computer than i would love this mod. i have the lowest settings and can barely get by in midgame. i love the mod just cant use it

I'd love a patch for Ships in Scaling or other smaller ship scale mods. It's odd seeing debri that's larger than the ship that exploded in the first place lol

This mod does not leave event markers for debris, that is vanilla. This mod is graphical with two starbase building to either slowly remove debris or to keep it as a war memorial.

Did the newest game version break this? I see debris fields after destroying ships. But no marker to collect the resources. Before the game patch it was working fine. Or did I find a mod that breaks it? =p

@NewBe=) The debris won't decay without the event that's included with this mod. You could try clicking on a planet in the system, opening the console, and inputting:

effect solar_system = { every_system_ambient_object = { destroy_ambient_object = this } }

If I turn this mod off mid-game during or after a war would it remove the debris? I'm asking because I'm playing with Starnet and the AI has thousands of ships and a war in heaven just started and my pc is crying for help

I think it would be better if it would be possible to add, instead of a building at the station, a decree to clean up space, which will remove all these fields of debris within a year, for 1000 energy.

dustreaper you reminded me of those basic web-based space games, where all battles caused debris, and players would calculate what time (or turn/tick) to arrive exactly at, to scoop up all the debris as credits, and warp away to safety) :)

maybe there could be a new mega structure to help scoop up debris at a quicker pace (if a player has enough time and resources to do that).... actually, this is going to be a problem for humans getting into space... just think of the film Gravity, or The Expanse :)

@jake the snake yea but i unsubsribed the multiple solar systems and just covered in it... the war had 36k lost ships when 1 side reached 100% so it's should maybe be like 50-60k ships destroyed imagine those wrecks..it just insane.

@Bionic Tem: yea it should be compatible I've used both of those mods with this mod and haven't noticed a difference

@Spartan118: Sadly this is not achievement compatible as it adds buildings

@Dustreaper: You may have to just not look into that system until it decays, unless this is happening even in the galaxy map. If you own the system you can build a starbase and build the building that makes debris decay at a faster rate.

I litteraly have entire swats of the solar systems covered in debris.. The current was has already destroyed 38k ships so the debris are insane in the stronghold systems... drops down to like 2 fps with a i-9900KF and RTX 2080TI 32GB ram. so i hope you can add a version or change this version to decay faster. Otherwise i would have to unsub. Like maybe a effect that scales the time based on the amount of debris. so big clouds dissapear faster.
