After three years, I have decided to make this map public again under the name "Rhythm Jump Studio: Legacy" -- completely untouched from the 2018 build. This was done solely for preservation purposes so that anyone in the future can document it. However, I strongly advise playing the official version via Seal the Deal beforehand!

Thanks again, everyone!

In about an hour I'm going to unlist Rhythm Jump Studio from the Steam Workshop, as it is now technically official content for A Hat in Time! Not to worry; the DLC containing this level will be free today, and free for all Kickstarter backers!

Apologies for the inconvenience! Thank you all SO MUCH for the support! Honestly! This Purple Time Rift I designed means so much to me, and I hope everyone will enjoy playing it in Seal the Deal!!

HAPPY MODDING EVERYONE!! <3

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that Rhythm Jump Studio will be in the Seal the Deal DLC as a Purple Time Rift!!

Because of this, I may have to remove this mod from the Workshop once the DLC drops on September 13th. Don't fear; it will be free during the first 24 hours after release, and free for Kickstarter backers. I HIGHLY encourage everyone who subscribed to this mod & the other contest rifts to get the DLC as soon as possible.

Once again, I sincerely thank everyone and the developers for supporting my work. Expect more modding content in the future! Love you guys!

CONGRATSSS YOUR LEVEL IS IN THE UPCOMING DLC!!!!!!!!!

@rafevl Thanks for the compliments dude! and yes, the map can be pretty difficult for some players, especially towards the end where your timing is put to the test! Balancing is perhaps the hardest part when it comes to making a level!

It took me 5 tries to beat this, not sure if I'm just bad or what, but it was so much fun I couldn't give up!

Wonderful map by the way!

I see that shiny little dog you put in there...

@Shia Labeouf Tried to patch the Moon Penguin photographer crash by re-cooking the mod. Thanks for the reports.

As for crashes caused by hitting the wooden dogs, that could either be on your end, or on the developers' end as I wasn't able to replicate it (also no one else has reported it). Try verifying the integrity of files under A Hat in Time > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity to see if that does anything. If not, I think the official website has a support page for more possible solutions.

The dog cutout hitting doesn't actually give me any error, it just makes the game instantly stop responding as soon as my swing makes contact, and Windows tells me to close it.

@Shia Labeouf Ahh now I see the issue. Tried to test your issues last night without luck; thanks for the screenshot!

@Shia Labeouf Gonna look into it. Sorry you're having trouble :/
ShyGuy 9 Jun, 2018 @ 1:10pm
Every camera penguin's picture crashes you instantly, and hitting the dog cutouts does the same. Please fix this? It sucks to be at the end of it, and then jump into the camera of a penguin I didn't realize was there and just crash.

A compatibility patch to prevent crashing due to the latest Hat in Time update is now live
FlameLFH  [author] 29 May, 2018 @ 5:15pm
@Stuyk @Masaki Ren Crashing is most likely due to the latest Hat in Time update. I'm going to re-cook and update my maps soon enough; sorry for the inconvenience!
Stuyk 29 May, 2018 @ 5:06pm
Map keeps crashing each time I play it. Not sure if there's a way you can fix that.
Masaki Ren 29 May, 2018 @ 8:02am
Currently the game crashes every time I load the map. This does not happen with other maps
FlameLFH  [author] 16 May, 2018 @ 3:35pm
@Jet Glad you enjoyed it! Fun fact: The music I used is a leftover track from the base game, which was originally intended to play in Chapter 4. You can listen to it by talking to the Express Owls in Hat Kid's spaceship!
Jet 16 May, 2018 @ 1:15pm
Easily my favorite Purple Time Rift for this contest. Brand new music, neat concept that was well exploited in the level, penguins everywhere, and a very fun level overall. Amazing work! Please do more of this in the future! :mafia:

Yeah, I know all of this critique is coming in late but now I actually got time to play all of these rifts lol The difficulty was raised a lot in the last rooms but it's all feasible since they don't take long to beat, if you wanted to make things easier maybe you could have just gotten rid of a few UFOs ugh those gave me so many cheap deaths. It would be really cool if your rift ended as a finalist and got some custom music made for sure.
FlameLFH  [author] 30 Apr, 2018 @ 12:27am
@Camb0t Thanks a lot; I appreciate it. I tried my absolute hardest to balance this rift for all players since launch. You have to be extremely careful when it comes to difficulty because it either makes or breaks a level if not kept in check. I'd personally make the final room even easier except the contest has already ended. As for the song, I was limited in terms of music choice (perhaps Gears can give it a tune if the rift actually wins? Who knows).
Camb0t 29 Apr, 2018 @ 11:48pm
Omg it took me so many tries but I finally beat your rift! It was a good challenge, the kind that makes you want to come back, I wouldn't have gotten frustrated often if I didn't have to restart everything after losing all of my lives of course but that's a flaw with the purple rift design, long levels or levels that lack pons like yours can be problematic.

I wouldn't change anything here though, you did a great job borrowing those mechanics from the Mario games, the only thing you are missing here is some custom music, it's not really a rhythm game without that.

Version 1.2.0 is now live! Several big changes have been made before the contest deadline! View the changelog here for details: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/changelog/1353629623

It's always nice to see the introduction of new mechanics !
FlameLFH  [author] 18 Apr, 2018 @ 3:55pm
@supersweetdominic1 I'll look into that, thanks.
supersweetdominic1 18 Apr, 2018 @ 11:14am
When I was in the 4th area, in the path after the 3 swinging balls I randomly got hurt jumping on the rhythm blocks. There might be some type of bug happening.

Update 1.1.0 is now live! It adds storybook page illustrations!

Update 1.01 is now live! Changes can be seen here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/changelog/1353629623

Please keep in mind that, due to how the current song is arranged, Beat Blocks may not "feel" synchronized to the rhythm, even if their intervals are 100% accurate. This is because my choice of music is restricted to either an original composition, or something from A Hat in Time. If Rhythm Jump Studio ever wins the contest, it's possible for the development team to provide an original tune for the rift; one that suits the beat clearly.
Zack113 16 Apr, 2018 @ 1:51pm
The beat block's pattern doesn't quite match the rhythm.
Rrriposo 15 Apr, 2018 @ 10:01pm
The blocks don't seem to be changing with the beat for me.
FlameLFH  [author] 15 Apr, 2018 @ 12:44pm
@Borari Thanks for the feedback man. I'm not entirely happy with the vertical Beat Block cycles, either; gonna lower them. I'll place a couple more heart pons as well.
Borari 15 Apr, 2018 @ 5:06am
It was pretty good! Only problem I had was that there didn't seem to be any heart pons other than the last room and some of the wall run puzzles didn't really work unless you did them precisely. If you were a little bit slow you would just kept falling through them and that was a bit annoying.

But very fun challenges, and very well hidden pictures, took me some time to find them all!
