Figured it out. It turns out the shooter needs to have the ammo in their inventory and not the crossbow itself. Thanks for the help though.

@Jager try checking the AI page see if they are set to shoot "neutral" threatsif that option isn't enabled the crossbowmen, mounted crossbows and harpoons do not fire until an enemy attacks one of your people

My guys on the mounted crossbows are not shooting (there is ammo loaded) and are in an unlimited cycle of "aiming". Anyone know a solution?

was kinda hoping it's fix the 'line of sight' issue where you cant seem to fire at an angle, but i can't complain this mod is a blast... literally xD

Something else came up, for some reason I can't aim and shoot any of the UC Nobles. When there are other enemies the Character will aim and shoot them and when there is only the Noble left, they will not fire their crossbow.

Yeah did so as the author suggested and it works now, anyway not that I tested this a lot, I can say that this mod should have been vanilla but also can you fix the not having a shot loaded at the start of a fight? I mean its weird when you start a fight and then you have to reload before the first shot, they should have a bolt already loaded and ready to go, Kenshi is a harsh world, I doubt anyone trying to survive it wouldn't be prepared by being ready to fire.

@sabreking you should try to get compatibility and changes going for crossbow expansion, a few of the bows there are kinda useless now but would be awesome for my archer army if fixed, also see if you cant make a fix for turrets as well, i tried to make a gunner shoot a crippled bandit and he wouldnt fire til i sent a worker to slap at him.

@hungry lion look up the load order guide on steam, its very useful, you should put this mod below crossbow expansion until a mod patch is out.

I have a masterwork old wold mkII, it doesn't have armor penetration for sure, I have killed around 20 samurai gate guards and i hardly get above 20 dmg, mostly I hit around 5 to 10... really, please define high penetration.

After importing my save all my bolts are gone. This was somewhat expected as the bolts now has 100 charges, meaning the standard bolts I had are no longer compatible(?), however I can't seem to find any bolts in any shops since I've got the mod, I've checked at the general store, caravans and the weapons store in Heng. Do they just not show up in Heng because they're all samurai bois?

make crossbow rly usefull early game ( now crossbowman squad will not be peelers machine for themselves ) . but range as i thinck too high ( somewhere in guts or cannobal plains you attacking one group of enemys and your squad after that start attacking somebody else farfar away )

thank you hotbed, yes i have been keeping an eye and still use it myself, patching other crossbow bods is a pain so i decided not to do it a lot but this mod still conveys the feeling i wanted the crossbows to have

I've had this mod for quite awhile now and it's still one of my all time favourite mods. The mod adds a lot more variety to crossbows, and makes them interesting and deadly. I've got a squad of rangers that specialise use different crossbows to have an 'all rounder' ranger squad. It's very immersive from a role play perspective.

Although it hasn't been updated in other a year (it might not need to be updated), it still works perfectly.

Springbats are supposed to be armor piercing bows that were made specifically to fight the UC, but a masterwork one literally does 0 damage against heavily armored opponents. Seems... wrong to me. Any way we can fix this?

Well i made the mod to make crossbows MATTER, this mod WILL change the gameplay a LOT, enemies with crossbows will be staying behind pelting you with arrows, so you will have to run and go get after the crossbow enemies ,, bows are more accurate, and hunting with bows makes a lot more sense. it does add more challenge, and sometimes reduces it as well if you find forexample a lone enemy you might be able to get him before he gets to you oonce you have a few good archers,,worth a shot

Tested this is getting this with Expanded Bandits/Hivers is a bad idea. Anyone from a bandit to a flotsam ninja raiding your base with 20+ npcs can keep your archers busy while their archers 1 shot almost everyone in your party. I'd advise anyone to get this only after having lots of recruits or if they turned raids down to a minimum.

@wibblypibbly Yeah I've been playing without the mod the last couple of days and noticed that the aggro range is still ridiculous so I don't think the mod is to blame like people were suggesting. Not sure if they just didn't test it on their own or what but I notice the same issues with vanilla crossbows when it comes to the AI behavior. Hopefully it's a "bug" that gets fixed later on in the actual game.

@ Lvl One Mage. That happened to me before, Green and two of my other archers ran halfway across the map to kill 6 bandits that were just hanging out in the hills outside of Squin. However, I don't have this mod or any crossbow mods.

Been having issues with the aggro range on crossbows. People are telling me it's this mod. My bros keep running off to engage other enemies no matter how far away they are after each fight. It's pretty annoying.

my skill in crossbows was 75ish with perception being close to the same, I was also wearing full samurai gear so my crossbow damage should be lower due to the skill penalty of heavy armor right?

250+ how high skill? well i imagined they should be able to disable limbs and even down enemies if hit in the torso and not good enough armour, one shot death however seems over kill, but one shot down should be probably,, a big ass crossbow bolt actually downs a person if hit in the torso, or disables a limb if hit in the arm or leg
