Thanks, much appreciated, there was still some more things I wanted to add, but never got around too. Maybe at some point i'll do that, or make another similar map. I don't really play Ravenfield much anymore.

Well considering I haven't recieved any other comments about lag issues, i'd say your issue is an isolated one. I wish I could be of more help.

First off, love the design. Love the concept and the map as a whole, it's definitely a favorite of mine. However....it does need some work. It really should be made a bit bigger, and definitely needs to fix some spawns in the two center flags. Some more cover would also be appreciated. And perhaps stairs so that the teams can use the roofs and balconies?

I can't wait to see the next update, I think this can become a really nice map.

@hootie420 Thanks, it's gotten better. The sciatic nerve pain comes back every now and again pulsating through my thigh, knee, and ankle. Usually it happens if I don't sleep in a certain position. If I don't, I wake up all tight and don't loosen up unti la few hours of walking around. Been busy with work and other projects, so i've gotten behind on furthur updating the map. Haven't forgotten about it though!:steamhappy:

great map for my computer is only a i5 vsus nvidia geforce one loads faster without doing "Exe.ravenfleid is not respawning"

-Expanded map size
-Added 4th Capture Point
-Larger front & backyards
-Replaced trees with more realistic low-poly ones
-Placed additional trees and bushes in multiple locations on the properties
-Added more vehicles
-Added more residential items to the houses & yards

Bask pain is less noticeable now guys, still unable to bend over enough without bad pain like when putting socks and put my boots on. Mostly sciatic nerve pain now in my right leg now, but I can sit for a while now and get back to this map.

Updates being made:
-Chaning the scale of the yards and moving the houses back a bit to lengthen the driveway's. Doing this so i'll have more room in the front and rear of the houses to add cover without cramping things up too much and preventing movement around the map. So in doing so the map will get a bit wider. @kwlong75 this will also allow me to move the middle flag back to lessen that.

@RedLegs13B First I hope you're OK. Second make sure it's sciatica and not your piriformus mucle. The pirifomus when injured can feel like a low back injury and the inflamation and swelling will pinch or crush the sciatic nerve. The result is a "back injury" that isn't one thus it won't respond to back treatments. I know I had this and was freaked I slipped a disc deadlifting but it was in fact an 4$$ injury. It's been 4 years and I'm fully functional but I have to do prehab work every day...the piriformus is like a p1$$3d off latina woman...she no forget!

I'll be adding more items to fill the emptyness, cover, and etc. to the map, don't you worry guys. I injured my lower back at work resulting in Sciatica, and it's making it especially difficult to sit down at my computer and make a lot of progress. Please bear with me, it's in the works.

To be honest I really prefer keeping this map at it's current size and dimensions. For those wanting a larger play area, whilst keeping the aesthectics (which you guys have been enjoying), I am going to make seperate expanded version of this map and release it as it's own workshop item.

I'd like to get off my ass and just start working on some of these things but I just don't have the motivation these days. Plus I know the game engine is limited right now. I've been curious about some of the inner workings of things because I know Unity can do some insane things but right now Ravenfield is cartoony and can still run poorly at times. Though I'm guessing a lot of overhead is simply the number of AI. I often wish there was a networking componant for the game not for multiplayer but just to offload AI.

Well the weather issue is blocked by fixed lighting. So if the author sets/locks the lighting then they also have to add the weather because you can't have that super bright day lighting but then the skybox is super dark clouds with rain, thunder and lightning.

I noticed the lighting on this and the sunset bloom, we need interesting things. Wind, Rain, Clouds, Fog, Snow, Dust, Dawn never mind the actual location and environment of the map. I'd love a vietnam jungle map or a suburbs map with the utilities near by like power or water sub stations. It would be great if things could go deeper like headwinds affecting flight, ballistics, making water choppy etc but just some basic controls would be enough. Let the user select (or choose randomly) TOD i.e. lighting and weather to keep things interesting.

Sadly I don't see a TOD selection either, but I don't see why fog elements or weather couldn't happen. Yeah i'm pretty proud how the lighting looks on this map. I made a conscious effort to stray far from the typical broad daylight look 90% of the maps have. I am really into aesthitics and nothing looks better than a dawn or sunset look in the enviornment of games. The Far Cry series is a prime example of outstanding displays of that. Really sets a cool mood.

I dunno how much he's able to spend time checking requests since I'm not on the Discord. I've put up quite a few posts in the steam request section. I suspect TOD won't happen because maps are made with fixed lighting. Weather will also require a lighting change sadly but I sure wish it would happen because maps are soo stagnant and "same" with these things. I notice the lighting on this map actually seems like dawn rather than HIGH NOON, like every other map. I think the day night thing is a start but it's not enough. Having a map you can roll in at night under fog, which slowly clears as the sun rises will change the game dynamic a lot.

Agreed and I like it. Now I just wish SteelRaven might pick up on some of my game mode requests for things like how the specops mode works and TOD and weather and I can sate my ARMA cravings without dealing with the broke ass stupidity of ARMA heh.

I'll be working on adding more objects for cover today and start the larger version sometime this week. Yeah i'm pleased to see maps going away from the whole mostly terrain editing non-sense and actually going about having a theme, buildings, interactive & audible aspects, etc. This game's workshop has really taken-off with creativity the past 2 months.

Heh I hear you on the low character limit, I often have to break up messages too.

I was thinking about the objects for cover thing like spacing things out more and having cars and trucks parked on the streets and such. There's tons you could do. I'm just glad to see maps moving in this direction latley. For a while there the workshop was being flooded by garbage where someone would play with the terrian raise and lower tool and that's it.

@Meowpocalypse I fixed the pathfinding box, was a tad outside the two longest walls. I've also added a few more contested spawn points to each Capture Point, to more specifically place bots when they spawn. Both of these changes should fix them going out of bounds. I didn't see them doing this myself, so thanks for letting me know about that problem.

As far as the layout and size of the map:

-I'll be adding some more aesthetics and objects to use as cover, I know it is a tad naked as it stands right now. Bear with me on this one.

-I do plan on making a larger version, doing exactly as you suggested. Adding another row or so of houses, so there's more Capture Points and play area. I'll probably make that into a 2nd version so this smaller one can still be available for those who are happy with it's small-scale size.

This map is super nice but I wish there was more to it.

I found a problem too. As you close in on the last flag the game has secondary spawns for the flag owner. On this map that secondary is outside the map. The enemy litterally walks through the boundary walls.

I'd like to see this be bigger but not getting to nuts it would be nice to just see another row of homes so each flag is in line with a home row. This also gives some better options for moving and since the homes are facing streets this also means the 3rd row would be backyards. Or if you wanted to get nuts go 4 rows so both "sets" of homes can face a street but then have back yards and maybe a park between for the center flag.

Even if you change nothing though thanks for the map. Super nice, though maybe too night. Seeing those killer houses makes me want to be able to go inside and see what they look like.

@Azeras Thanks for the input. This map was made for straight-forward & shorter gameplay; perfect for things like the Nerf Pack, pistols, submachine guns, etc. I've got other maps planned for a more broader experience. There's one i've been working on and off that has a more realistic look to it and focuses on more urban combat. No release time on that one yet.

Looks good. Metallic glow of material doesn't fit in my opinion, but that's matter of taste.
Gameplay is simplictic - too smplistic for my liking. Version that would add fighting on roofops would be cool. Adding sewers layers also would be great.

Decent stuff, but there's more potential.
