@MigiB: You need the mod Quay Anarchy to place quays inland
MigiB 1 aug. 2022 la 4:31
It still says a shoreline is required when I want to place it on land as a retaining wall, even with anarchy on :'(
geckoman1011 29 apr. 2021 la 22:12
beautiful screenshots
MisterHamstring 28 apr. 2021 la 11:03
Just the work-around I need, thanks! 😊👍🏼
Avanya  [autor] 28 apr. 2021 la 3:29
It's all to do with how the roads and terrain works, so unfortunately there's nothing I can do with my quays to change that.
Avanya  [autor] 28 apr. 2021 la 3:29
Then I recommend using the terraforming network in the water to force the terrain to be sharper.

@Avanya: that doesnt work, already tried that. The slope is caused by the road. You cannot landscape it away. One solution is to put an elevated road there, but i dont want the railing there...
Avanya  [autor] 25 apr. 2021 la 5:01
@Stoj: Ah, now I follow. You need to terraform the land on the water side. The quays don't change the coastline, they're just placed on top of it. So if you have terrain showing like that, you will need to do a little landscaping
MisterHamstring 24 apr. 2021 la 8:46
It's the vanilla quay, but yours has the same problem.
Avanya  [autor] 18 apr. 2021 la 8:35
@Stoj: Hmm, maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem. Can you post a screenshot of the problem?
MisterHamstring 18 apr. 2021 la 6:20
@Avanya: it didn't work :(
MisterHamstring 18 apr. 2021 la 5:32
@Avanya: I will give it a try. Thank you. 👍🏼
Avanya  [autor] 18 apr. 2021 la 4:56
@Stoj: I recommend getting the Quay Upgrade mod, it lets you flip directions for quays like with one-way roads, which makes it flip which side it connects to the ground on.
MisterHamstring 17 apr. 2021 la 8:55
I always get a slope of dirt instead of a straight wall to the ground. What to do??
Avanya  [autor] 6 sept. 2020 la 1:45
@SayupTawa: Not automatically. It's a quay, just like the one that comes with the game. It needs to be placed manually in locations you want it.
SayupTawa 5 sept. 2020 la 23:26
is this should build on shoreline?
Slizsan 23 iul. 2020 la 10:53
to anyone looking for a perfect match to the in game fishing docks! this is it!!! dont know if it was on purpose or not but it is!!! thank you again for your amazing work Avanya
Avanya  [autor] 13 iul. 2020 la 2:07
@Luap: Unfortunately quays don't work very well when they're thinner than this. They are hiding the terrain, so a thin qauy would simply just sit next to some weird looking terrain. I recommend a combination of your favorite retaining wall and these:

Luap 12 iul. 2020 la 14:44
@Avanya I got to say, I spent most of the day today looking through and subscribing to the large majority of your work. Excellent stuff.

Is there any way that you could create this Quay at about a 5th of the thickness? I am really really wanting to use these as retaining walls but they are so massive. I know there must be tons of people thinking the same thing so I am guessing that your answer is going to be no for some technical reason or other otherwise someone would have already done it.
BrowncoatTrekky 19 mai 2020 la 4:22
Shows you the last time I played this game @Avanya. Trying to get back to it now. Thanks.
Avanya  [autor] 19 mai 2020 la 2:09
@BrowncoatTrekky: This one is a quay, which means it pulls up the terrain on one side. The other one is a wall that doesn't affect the terrain at all.
BrowncoatTrekky 18 mai 2020 la 15:39
Hey. Long-time @Avanya! What is the difference between this guy and this one? Trying to avoid over subbing.
Clunk 21 apr. 2020 la 4:15
I added this to my existing bunch of quays as this is such a lovely quay wall. Thank you!
Jon Carbuncle 19 febr. 2020 la 14:22
This is wonderful, thank you very much for making it!
Avanya  [autor] 11 nov. 2019 la 2:37
@San Felipe: Actually I was just having a friendly conversation about it and mentioning another option you could go with in the future if you aren't comfortable using people's names.
Darth Modus - God of Richards 10 nov. 2019 la 17:02
@Avanya - Look, I've already explained why I did it and I've been calling you by your "author name" now out of respect but it seems like you want to turn this into something personal? So I'm off because the last thing I need right now is an overly sensitive person making this into such a big deal.
Avanya  [autor] 10 nov. 2019 la 16:52
@San Felipe: It just seems so weird to me to be called "author" :P You can always do like most people do and not really address it to anyone. It's kinda assumed that it's to the creator of whatever you're commenting on. :)
Darth Modus - God of Richards 10 nov. 2019 la 15:33
@avanya - Yes I saw your name earlier but I didn't know how you'd react to me using it since I've used authors names before and I either get verbally abused, ignored or somebody else answers. So that's why I just put to author since it generally gets the person who authored the mod to reply back, albeit not always in a cordial manner. Besides, it was nothing personal against you nor did I have any objective of insulting you; I just wanted to ask you said question below. ;)
Avanya  [autor] 10 nov. 2019 la 15:28
@San Felipe: Firstly I have a name, which is displayed both on the right and in the comments where I've answered people. ;)

This is a quay like the one that already exists in game. This one looks differently and it shaped slightly differently. They function the same, the point of this one is to offer a different look.
Darth Modus - God of Richards 10 nov. 2019 la 14:10
@author - Is this a mod that has already been incorporated by CO into CSL? I remember seeing something similar in-game to this you see but I'm unsure if it is related to this mod in some form or another?
ConureGuy_411 6 iul. 2018 la 16:12
Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
Avanya  [autor] 6 iul. 2018 la 12:54
ConureGuy_411: They're the same textures, but they function a little differently. This one is a quay which means it does that thing where it raises the land up on one side. The other one doesn't do that. With the Loading Screen Mod and texture and mesh sharing enabled you'd have very little extra loaded with both. I find each version to be handy in different situations.
ConureGuy_411 5 iul. 2018 la 18:10
Does this asset do the same as your underpass/overpass support network? They look the same. I have the other one, but not this one.
Avanya  [autor] 10 mai 2018 la 7:11
Oh you meant the one alongside the quay! I was looking at the underpass. :P That one I just place the road next to the quay where it snaps to and then move it into place with MoveIt. It will dip down, so using the new Adjust height from MoveIt is a good way to fix that. Takes some time to get right as the road flops around. :P
xybolt 10 mai 2018 la 2:54
Thanks for your response. I had to set the terrain level first to flatten it for my road placement. I do not think I did have done it very well. Gotcha look for some video tutorial on youtube.

I built my road first before placing your quay.
here is my result: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1382352504

There is still some small height issues but that requires more practice it seems.
Avanya  [autor] 10 mai 2018 la 2:16
@xybolt: I built the road and the rail first, then turned off all the road guidelines and snapping that comes with the game as well as turned off snapping with Fine Road Anarchy. Then I draw the quay with collision off. Sometimes I need to adjust it a little with MoveIt, but other times it's in the right spot from the start.
xybolt 10 mai 2018 la 1:51
How did you place that road nicely along the quay wall? I have both road anarchy and quay anarchy but there is always a small distance between both (one block big)
Armesto 15 apr. 2018 la 12:25
That's deep, indeed.
Valliv 14 apr. 2018 la 21:05
nice
Ronyx69 13 apr. 2018 la 14:52
@vitusweb You can plop pretty much anything in the map editor by opening ModTools scene explorer > custom prefabs > the type you want, networks in this case.
vitusweb 10 apr. 2018 la 0:29
Thanks, I understand! I was asking because it would fit perfectly in the map I'm making, as I need both underpasses and quays.
Avanya  [autor] 9 apr. 2018 la 13:13
@vitusweb: It should be possible, I just forgot about it. I'm gonna give it a little while before I'll do an update though - to see if there's any issues I'll have to fix. Networks are a little more sensitive when updating, so I want to keep updates to a minimum just in case I break things. ;)
vitusweb 9 apr. 2018 la 12:47
Great asset! Is there any way to have it available in the map editor?
