For me, the mod hasn't worked worked for sme time : it remains stuck on the original buildings and units, whatever the civilizations. What manipulation could I do ?

Nevermind, the Copyright takedown is by Okmar himself. I still don't think it will go though since it's ultimately "created on my behalf", something I have said to him multiple times and he agreed to and I have declared publicly that the IA project is basically "CC-0". If it does get taken down, I guess I'll just re-upload the mod as is or modified if Okmar has done more than the independent stuff (crediting him and acknowledging his efforts post 5.7 of course). I don't characteristically do stuff like that, but honestly I have ran out of patience and subtly.

If it gets another copyright notice, well then I guess I'll just convert everything to the WololoKingdoms system. Because that's something with his brain literally rotting away wants to do...

I'm sorry, I know it's disappointing but I really can't get re-involved with IA or continue modding AoE2 anymore. My health is going downhill and my personal life is a complete mess. I just don't have the time or energy to change tens of thousands of values or to get involved in this drama. Sorry.

I don't think there is anything to worry about with the takedown anyways. Outside of the Custom Elite Cannon Galleon, which I personally asked permission to use, IA with Units by itself does not use any fan created assets. Unless it's (the entire IA Mod) claimed to be "stolen" from myself, which is clearly not the case.

The Goths are the "base" civilization for the North European architecture, so if you wanted the mod you linked to to apply to the Goths ALONE, you just make sure that mod is active and play with IA and it should only effect them.

A renewed question: is it possible to have IA, combined with IU and also buildable road? YuenHsiasoTieng also asked to add all the civ regions from the Wololo Kingdoms version. This is going to be very much appreciated. :-D

Actually I wish this would get added as an official patch then everyone would be on this data set and anyone who didn't want to see the unique skins could just play with the original skins but still their datasets would be compatible with people on this mod. That would be perfect. How can we pressure to the devs to include this?

Hi, I found Portugese cannon galleon is incorrectly replaced by the mid-east flag on the ship and only on cannon galleon. I tried different mod combination and make sure it only happens while using IA mod, no matter whether using IU or not. Greatly appreciate if it can be fixed :steamhappy:

It's probably of no concern to you since you probably play multiplayer exclusively, but in campaigns and custom scenarios, gaia units always use the middle-eastern/African/Indian unit set. It's not a big deal, though it would be less offensive if they shared the original/European unit set.

@mayosrojas - I actually did experiment with Regional Dark Age buildings roughly a year back on IA. That never really took off though so I ended up removing it. If there is support and a will for it, I will consider re-adding it back in. As for Villagers, I know that is a popular request, but Villagers are, in simplistic terms, a complete nightmare to mod and get working properly in AoE2. Not saying that I won't do it, but really isn't that simple.

@redragons - You need to Pre-Load the mod first before opening saved games using IA. The mod also doesn't do any changes on it's own but rather serves as a template for other mods. However, such mods do not exist yet publicly.

@Psychodelic Mind - All I can say is soon. Maybe in a few weeks. Maybe.

If I may make a general comment, thank you so much for IA, @Saint_Michaels_. Even if it only affects graphics, a large part of AOE2's charm is in its medieval setting and pixel artwork, this extends it all so much further, and despite issues in the regular .dat files you were the one to actually step up to the plate and get it done. I consider this my favorite mod for AOE2 now, and I just wanted to thank you it. (The custom unit version is also greatly appreciated as well, haha.) Kudos for you for being the master modder and tinkerer for the AOE2 community!

When I had this mod I could not load saved games, even games with this data set. Also I did not notice the units. So unforunately I unsubscribed.
What was I doing wrong?

Thanks for answering :). I know probably isn't a priority right now, but, Do you think some day in future this mod could separate "dark age building sets"? There are a few ones which are very cool. And, how about villagers? Could you do something similar to monks, making different "peasants" for different "cultural blocks". It'll be great if we could see villagers with various skin tones, or hair colors, even with different outfits. Greetings!

@Basileus Arcadios - It is something I have thought about. I have an idea of applying the feature to the VMDL Cheat unit, changing him into a "Terrain Paint" unit. Grass, Dirt, Roads, Snow and so forth.

@YuenHsiaoTieng - Not sure what you mean though. Most of the Architecture Mods on Voobly should already be on the Workshop already outside of a few that I'm aware of, such as the Chinese Buildings in the unofficial Forgotten Empires Update, the Viking Buildings by I believe Dynast_IV and the old Khmer Buildings. Also Catbarf's old Byzantine Buildings, but that's due to request. Everything else from Voobly should be on the Workshop in some form.

@mayosrojas - Thanks. Again, the Japanese are on the top priority when I get around to expanding the Civilizations. It's hard hard to convince myself that it's worth doing it at the moment though, since there aren't any mods yet on the workshop using this feature. I am working on a unit pack for all three regions at the moment and I have gain permissions from a few high profile Civ 3 modders that has made some high quality units that I feel would fit into AoE2 pretty well, so I'll see how that goes. I might have something by the weekend, hopefully.

As I said before you've done a great job. You've open the gates for a bunch of possibilties. Would you make please a "separate block" for japanese? I mean, there are already a lot of beautiful graphics for this civilization. And I think it's enough different to the other asian cultures to deserve its "own block". Thank you very much :)

@saint_michaels : the accepted rule we use in AoKH is that if someone hasn't been active in over a year, and hasn't replied to any solicitation then the files are free to be used with proper credits.
