Problematic Plumbing

I never used blue gel.
after getting a reflector past the fizzler. I walked to the flip panel button. jumped up from it & fired a portal to the side of the exit. then portaled back to get the cube & then portaled with cube to button. then fired portal in flip panel & the other at light bridge. went through light bridge portal & out of panel & walked along light bridge to exit.
but I did have fun :)

Nice chamber - faffed around a bit too much before the light bulb moment. Elegant solution

This is how i did it whitout the lightbridge!
Swedish Firefighter 27 Apr, 2018 @ 12:14pm
No need of lightbridge!

@GrEnAdE Ok, I'm sorry but I'm very confused as to what you mean, do you think you could send me a link to a video of what you mean?
chromodynam1c 27 Apr, 2018 @ 10:59am
@Mango By that I meant this:
1. The player gets on the glass, then places the portal.
2. The player can't get on the glass, puts gel next to it, and jumps to place the portal.
2 is better.
Wipeout!  [author] 26 Apr, 2018 @ 12:11pm
@GrEnAdE that would solve that issue, but unfortunately you cant put gel on the edge of glass
chromodynam1c 26 Apr, 2018 @ 11:48am
@Mango I solved that part by getting up on the ledge, thinking for a while, placing the portal I need, then going back down.
If there was gel there, placing the portal where I need it would be harder.
It's trivial I know.

nice map
joe98 25 Apr, 2018 @ 9:05pm
Tried to use reflective cube but everytime I deflect the laser at a target the cube is destroyed.

Wipeout!  [author] 25 Apr, 2018 @ 11:52am
@GrEnAdE why would that be a problem?
chromodynam1c 25 Apr, 2018 @ 8:58am
Terrific map! I really enjoyed it. However, the map would be flawless if you could prevent the player from getting on top of the glass ledge.

@Mark Ruins Everything well I wasn't really going for a 'test-chamber' vibe, its a place filled with plumbing
Pwner’s Manual 24 Apr, 2018 @ 9:35am
@dven1 you gotta walk to a button with signage to walk across some lift platforms, and get across before they go down again. If you are seeking a "broken-down," "non-test chamber fill, right click on the pedestal button in the puzzlemaker and set "connection visiblility" to none. But honestly I think that whole portion does not need to be there. :)
dven1 24 Apr, 2018 @ 4:26am
@Mark Ruins Everything, I saw no "intro sequence", perhaps you're confusing this map with another.

@Mango, I played the map again and see that your solution is better than mine. Now if you could just get rid of that noisy intro... :steamhappy:
Wipeout!  [author] 23 Apr, 2018 @ 9:32pm
?
Pwner’s Manual 23 Apr, 2018 @ 7:54pm
Quite noisy. I do not understand why the intro sequence is necessary. If you were shooting for an apocolypse feel, I recommend BEEMOD.

Oh, no thats how it was supposed to be, the water is supposed to be able to be shut off in order to put the gel there, not as an obstacle to put the gel around, I just didnt play test before the update that broke it and didnt realize that would happen
dven1 23 Apr, 2018 @ 6:29pm
I'm sorry, you mistook my suggestion somehow. The water was a good idea because it forced players to consider how to put gel down while the water was there to wash it away. You took it away and removed that consideration too soon. I had meant that it would have been good to shut off the water when the cube was placed on the button that flipped the panel for the lightbridge to access the exit so players didn't have to walk through it on the bridge.. Sorry about the mix-up, your solution was quite imaginative.

New update, added lock for water over jump
dven1 23 Apr, 2018 @ 3:10pm
Yes, that seems much "cleaner" and the basics of the map remain unchanged. One small thing, I'd turn off the water when the last cube is placed. (Unless you prefer the "shower".)

New update, removed weighted cube, moved second laser cube
dven1 23 Apr, 2018 @ 6:44am
Nice easy map, well made and sufficiently lit. The weighted cube isn't needed. Thanks for your efforts.
Wyld Drew 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:37am
Got a thumbs up! Though can be solved using only the two laser cubes.
Nicely laid out and well lit too. Fun to solve.
Maybe if you were to link the reciver to the exit, or find a way of using the funnel?

New update, added laser cube under funnel to replace a destroyed cube
Wyld Drew 22 Apr, 2018 @ 5:51am
Rated down as lost the laser cube, as it does't repawn you can't compleate the chamber.
:p2turret:
war_gerbil 22 Apr, 2018 @ 3:59am
Nice map, but like @joe98, I either destroyed or lost the cube that came with the funnel. Never noticed it anyway, the first time through, and could not figure out how to complete the puzzle til I came here and restarted.
joe98 21 Apr, 2018 @ 5:22pm
I mistakenly destroyed the cube that arrives in the funnel. I could not get a replacement cube.

Fun easy map.
Wipeout!  [author] 21 Apr, 2018 @ 11:20am
@sominc ah, ok thanks, and since its not really that obvious or easy, I think I'll just leave it
GrottoLova 21 Apr, 2018 @ 8:28am
Here is what benvent is talking about https://youtu.be/DsN0dECpazk
Wipeout!  [author] 21 Apr, 2018 @ 8:04am
@benvent I don't really understand how you did that, if possible could you maybe record yourself doing it and send me a link?
Str0 21 Apr, 2018 @ 7:24am
Solved without using most of the items available, except for the first lens cube. I'm not sure if that's intended or not.
qmakr 21 Apr, 2018 @ 6:21am
Nice map, didn't see the need for the tractor beam.
GrottoLova 21 Apr, 2018 @ 6:04am
Plumbing fixed. I solved as intended but I felt there was a shortcut. Realy fun little map. Right up my alley
benvent 21 Apr, 2018 @ 5:02am
Can be completed without using the laser or blue gel I just stepped on the button to operate the funnel and get the laser cube and used the funnel to shoot a portal on the other side
ZAEROS 18 Apr, 2018 @ 1:08am
Good fun map, Enjoyed, Thank you, I've started testing all "silent" buttons to check, does waste a bit of time unfortunately.
Wipeout!  [author] 16 Apr, 2018 @ 12:13pm
I just tested it, and it still has the silent timer, I'm very confused
Wipeout!  [author] 16 Apr, 2018 @ 12:08pm
oh, wasn't awair of that, thanks! I'll fix that now
Expat 15 Apr, 2018 @ 7:29pm
From my very limited fooling with the editor, it seems that if connection visibility is set to none, that's what silences the timer. If you use a sign or antline, then you get the ticking.
Wipeout!  [author] 15 Apr, 2018 @ 5:54am
yeah, sorry about that, I dont't know how to fix it, it seems that whenever you have a timer set over a certain amount of time, it just completely gets rid of the tick sound. I have no idea how to fix it
Expat 14 Apr, 2018 @ 10:48pm
Hooray, Mango's back! Fun map, with one niggle. For most mappers, I'd automatically downvote for that silent timer on the first bridge. Since it's you (and I'm hoping for more MangoMaps) I didn't. Thanks for creating.
