YuenHsiaoTieng Sounds, thanks for the great job you're doing! I agree with WeAreGoyim that Jorgito's horse archer is too European for be used for the Asians. If i could do a sugestion, byzantine knight looks so arabic, doesn' t looks byzantine, and Hun paladin doesn't seems a barbarian. Congratulations for the Byzantines sword and pike lines!!

Final Update: Byzantine scout line updated. Old light cavalry demoted to scout. New Light cavalry and hussar. This is the final update for this beta version. Support will be discontinued for this mod and a new mod will be posted in celebration of this (near) final form.

@Zhizhou Zhang. When do you plan on continuing your work? Might those cavalry units remain in the mod if Yuen ads you in the credits? It's quite difficult to find slp's with hifgh enough cuality. How about you collaborate and create the best ever mod for AoE2?

Today's Update: Added Asian crossbow. Removed "Roman" Byzantine cavalry archers. Added cataphract archer for Byzantine and Arab heavy cavalry archer. Added pretty pictures.

It will now be easy for everyone to see which units still need work/color fixes/shadow fixes. Nothing is final yet, but we're getting closer, so speak up now if there's a unit choice to which you have a particularly strong opposition.

Today's Update: Yet another rework of Byzantine knights. They very similar to Middle Eastern knights but with slight differences. The Byzantine cataphract is now back to default. Middle Eastern and Hun paladins have also been changed. The three non-European paladins are all very similar but with different shields.

There is unfortunately a problem with the Byzantine paladin's shield for right now. It switches sides while running. I'll see what I can do.

Today's Update: The Romans have advanced to the middle ages! Byzantine sword and spear line have been reworked featuring all new units for pikeman, halberdier, longswordsman, two handed swordsman, and champion.

Thanks for the great job you are ding, but i agree with you that archers line of byzantines is not the best option. Is better the original archer line.

Today's Update: Added Byzantine archer line. Added Asian arbalest. Fixed Asian longsword walking animation.

I'm not married to these Byzantine archers. They look a little dull. I'm still not sure how the best Byzantine archers should look.

@Tiago-Zr Those porbably force the "original" data set, so the data mod isn't compatible unfortunately.

I mean the Forgotten/African/Rajas worked perfectly, but AOK and AOC campaigns does not load the unit reskins. They don't crash at all just start with vanilla units.

Thanks for the help! One small problem though, all other campaigns worked fine except the AOK and AOC ones. Is there a way get these to load as well?

@Tiago-Zr Yes, there's a trick to it though. It won't work if you start a mission as soon as you open the game, but if you start a regular single player game with the data mod enabled then exit back to the main menu you will see the banner has changed. Once the banner has changed then the mod is active and will work on any campaign.

Same issues happens when trying to load replays. You have to start a dummy game with the data mod first, and only then load the replay. Otherwise the game crashes.

This Morning's Update: Sacked yesterday's Byzantine elite skirmisher. Promoted yesterday's regular skirmisher to his place, and replaced that one with another Roman looking skirmisher. Replaced Byzantine scout.

Demoted Arab elite skirmisher and replaced with a new one. Added Arab spear. Changed Arab halberdier. Added caped archers for Arab xbow and arbalest, but these are experimental.

Today's update: Added Byzantine skirmishers. Replaced all New World archers and skirmishers. I'm still not crazy about this set either though. Many more changes on the way.

Nice! Both changes are fine, I think. Nevertheless, I believe the previous "hunnic cavalry archer" wasn't bad at all. You should consider the possibility of keeping both, as regular and elite.
Anyway, Do you remember the graphics from the "portuguese civilization mod"? I have a few suggestions about it:

https://ptcivmod.com.br/wiki/File:Archer_of_the_eyes.JPG instead of crossbowman or arbalester for middle eastern civilizations, due the crossbows weren't so popular for them anyway.

https://ptcivmod.com.br/wiki/File:Genoese_crossbowman.JPG I think may be a good byzantine crossbowman.

https://ptcivmod.com.br/wiki/File:Hajduk.JPG for hunnic crossbowman. For real, huns never used the crossbowman.

https://ptcivmod.com.br/wiki/File:Camelancer.JPG or the middle eastern scout (the specifc one from the mod) instead of some camel. If you use any of them, you may be able to set different camels for byzantines too.

Today's update: New World pike and halb have been switched as I think the shielded guy looks better. More importantly, R_V_A has provided an updated Hun horse archer with more size and color.

The_Warmaster's elite skirmishers for Arabs have been added for today's update. Unfortunately, the data mod doesn't support ships or additional monk changes.

And here comes another suggestion. I think we both agree that Byzantines are very special and deserve special stuff. I'm really happy about being useful about this. Thanks! I've found a couple of things more. You may check them and add them if you like. The first one is this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=895556990&searchtext= a nice reskin for the elite skirmisher that may suit very well for middle eastern civilizations. The second one is not really a "finding" (this one can be found in the regular editor from the AoE 2 HD), I'm talking about the priest/monk from AoE 1. You could use him for the huns due they were not christians, and this priest is the only one that looks "pagan" (even like a chaman). Nevertheless, if you take huns in an "Asian context" the regular "buddhist monk" may be appropiated. Greetings! :)

@mayosrojas Thank you! I think I found him. In the process I found a Hun archer I added, and I added Asian set cavalry archers. I'm still trying to resize that last horse archer, but this guy is just fine and has easier to see colors anyway. Other than Arab horse archers, Arab and Asian light cav, and Byz hand cannon, we're just about wrapping up unless there are amazing xbows and arbs out there somewhere I've missed. You've been a great help.
