@ D YellowMadness I'm sure they're not optimal, this was my first 3D platforming level ever (I think) and the idea called for very vast levels which I couldn't fill properly with lack of experience. About the bird, there was some sort of slightly buggy way (that occured very naturally when I played, so I thought it was okay) to kill it very quickly, I wonder if it got patched out? Basically when Hat Kid and the bird collided with Hat Kid attacking, it would hit the bird around 35 times or so...

To me, navigating the last 2 sections was overly awkward & took forever. So much so that I thought the sections leading up to it were a different mod until I saw commenters her mentioning things from them. Also, the meat bird's health felt extremely excessive. I wasn't sure I was even hurting it since it seemed like it should've died a lot sooner than it did. The atmosphere, music, & storybook are great though.

@Cold Finger Thank you, however I guess that's sadly part of the Purple Rift theme. If it was up to me I think I'd make it so you continue from the level part you died in, or at least had an additional reset point halfway through the level!

This map is really neat! I especially love the visuals in the space section. The music is pretty neat too!
BUT the checkpoints are terrible.. they always teleport you to the beginning of the section.
And dying is way too unforgiving. I was pretty much about to finish the last part of the final section, but then I died and was sent all the way back to the very beginning of the entire level.

I don't know if that's just the way rifts are but it really sucks that I have to go through the entire rift again.

Okay, maybe it's just my imagination, but the entire first part really reminds me of the Underworld section in God of War. If that was intentional, then awesome! Also I guess that makes that section with the annoying bird miniboss thefight with cerberus.

I have just a little update that made my day which you would probably like as well. I just found out that it isn't the "top 10" maps that are being played... It's the top 20. (Meaning that we all are getting our maps played! Even though we posted so late, we're still in the contest!)

Additionally, it's not just one person who gets their map added to the game. (They could add every map if they so choose.)

It's not rambling, it was very helpful since I either forgot about that function or never knew about it. The windmill and some other meshes I could think of that had wonky collision should be fixed in the updated version! Thank you for your feedback!

@cubehero Another post with entire spoiler text! Yay! I'm not sure if I'm conveying the wrong message. It is a setting in the editor, not the package that is collide complex. Just like how you can click on the rift gates and set which checkpoint they head to. (If you already knew this just ignore my ramblings.) And at least you have a 300MB download. Mine is somehow 500MB...

@Thannator I didn't know it was possible to alter the original assets in their packages, but considering that the mod re-packages them at the end, it makes sense - that would have saved me a lot of time like modeling a custom collision for the shooting star... I think I'll go back and try to improve a few of the things you've said, I hope putting out an update for the mod doesn't make everyone redownload 300MB D:

@cubehero Yeah, collide complex is per poly and makes it alot smoother. Alot of objects in my map wouldn't work nearly as well without it. If I was to make a suggestion the windmill with the flamethrowers outside needs it. I've tried to walk under it to grab the heart multiple times but got met with an invisible wall.

@Thannator Can you actually do that for original AHIT assets in their own packages? If so I wasn't aware of it... I think I used per-poly collision or BlockingVolumes for most of my own assets aside from the clouds, which were meant to let Hat Kid sink into them a bit, but some of the original assets had really wonky collision and per-poly collision would have come in handy!

Another possible bug/game design thing I forgot to mention (In the flower level mostly, but in some other levels too.) Some objects have stange hitboxes when you walk on them (Floating over them somewhat). To fix this you can go into their properties, the "collision" tab, and check "collide complex". I use this all over my map.

@Thannator Thank you a lot, this style is not something I have a lot of experience with, so I'm glad if you liked them! Ah, good catch! I noticed those but didn't really know what to do about it, I'll try to keep your advice in mind if I do an update to the map! (I also thought they were no huge deal since there are floating pillars near them, but the decals in the air do look a little strange)

I finally found all the story book pages! I gotta say they look just like the art style from main game. Very well done! I did encounter a bug though, the bird boss has floating pieces that the decal is casting onto, making strange floating marks. You can fix this by selecting whatever is invisible and unchecking "accepts decals".

@Thannator My initial design plans for the planets unfortunately didn't quite work out, so I had to settle for diving inside a water planet. The lava is supposed to kill you and not give the normal burning jump reaction, but it might be missing a volume underneath to cause particle effects or something.

I will tell him, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that!

I had no idea that I was about to dive into the ball of water in the space level. I also spent longer than I should have trying to get through the first level, I didn't realize there was a wall jump and got stuck at the bottom of it. (Also the lava doesn't burn you. Not sure if that is intentional.)

Tell your brother that I like his custom music. I wish I had the time to make custom music for my map, but all I made is a boss theme which I have yet to use.

Gave you an upvote! Our late entries need it. If you have time I would like your opinion on my map, "Time is Critical". I also had never used the editor before making it. (Feel free to use cheats if you need, it's hard)

@Mike Smith @AquiferNoMetalZone Thank you both for the comments! I guess I should have put more Energy Bits in some places. I'm glad you like the custom assets!

And yes, the miniboss crow has a ton of HP, but they can deplete quickly if you attack it in certain ways!

Best first mod ever XD. The new assets all fit very well with the artistic style of the original game and I would love to see them used in the making of other levels. The only problems i've found was the lack of more Pons trails and in the last part the stars in the sky followed the camera like mosquitoes . Great job!

Great music & story book! The map is kinda big so sometimes I don't know where to go. Also I found the crow with a hunk of meat invulnerable, maybe a bug?
