that's... not what i'm worried about. i want to just hide the health/ammo/armor area itself and keep all the extras, like how there's the option to disable the inventory part separately

Afaik you can disable the fake loading screen without disabling the rest of the hud

is there a way (other than hud scale) to hide the hud itself without disabling everything else? hudscale slider works, but also affects the text in the 'fake loading screen'; made me think my game froze when i changed maps

That's because those entities do not trigger the normal item pickup sequence.

When I use entites from Quake sweps, the pickup text doesn't show up.

Can you do colorable half-life 2 hud?
