I've used your mod in my modpack, credit given in the form of a link to this page. I'm not expecting the pack to get much attention, but let me know personally if you have an issue with it being available in it publicly. Thanks. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=708909629

Is there any way i can bring you back to this mod to perhaps update it and add a 6th socket? I have been using it quite frequently .

great job

Good job !

New tests : it works fine for most of my items with 3 gems.
But some still weren't visible. Fixed this with 2 gems on those.
This bug is pretty annoying ...
e2n 20. maj 2013 kl. 5:50
Ok, thanks for the answer and the link from runic forum. It seems to be a main issue from the game itself. Even the Asphyx helmet and The Hands of Orlac, both native 5 socketable items are bugged.
Apparently, in the thread, people are saying you can't put more than 2 gems. Although it appears 3 was working last night when i tried with a friend. But i didnt reload my game with him after that so i'll make some more tests tonight and let you know.

Anyway it's still a great mod combined with synergies' hardcore dungeons and it's been really helpful :) Thanks for your work.

I just hope Runic would do something about it ..

Thanks for the report, Boucles d'Or. I'm not sure what I could do about that though, except warn people in the description to not put more three sockets on an item if they play their character with others. I never played the game in multiplayer, and thus didn't encounter the bug. There's a thread in Runic's forums describing the problem in more detail: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=48131
I'll keep the mod as-is for the moment, since the socketing is working fine in singleplayer-mode. But I will put a warning in the description for people who want to use it for multiplayer.
e2n 19. maj 2013 kl. 10:21
i've made some tests : it works fine with 3 filled sockets. It starts bugging once i put a 4th gem on something.
e2n 19. maj 2013 kl. 7:51
@t-oastbro-t
i dont know if this problem has been discussed but it seems that having 5 gems on any items creates issues while multiplayering : my mates dont see my stuff anymore once i socketed them fully, and worse, the server neither. As a results, it's like im fighting naked with no armor and taking maximum damage from any mob.
It's fine on solo gaming but totally unplayable in multiplayer way.
Anyone feeling the same way ?

@Cross, alien-carrot
I don't know if Synergies overwrites the maproom-layout as well. If it does, it might conflict and you'd have to consider the loading-order when using this mod.

@Cross
This mod doesn't change your gear or character in any "new" way, it should be perfectly safe to activate and deactivate it whenever you need/don't need the socket enchanter without compromising savegames. I tested it myself and haven't yet heard of people having any difficulties in this regard.
Cross 25. apr. 2013 kl. 17:55
question...is this mod compatible with the synergies mod collection? Also is this mod hard saved onto your game files? (meaning no way to disable the mod and continue in a online coop game with someone who doesnt have the mod......basically does it mess up ur game like the "improved engineer summons"?)
HenryJackMorgan 22. apr. 2013 kl. 11:32
How can i get to the maproom?
alien-carrot 21. apr. 2013 kl. 2:57
is this compatible with synergies?
BlaKe 13. apr. 2013 kl. 4:15
I dont think its your mod anymore. I disable your mod and tries to destroy the item and reclaim the gems but it crashes all the time. And one other thing 5 sockets? lol i only seem to get out 4 =/ even if its on top of all my mods
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 13. apr. 2013 kl. 3:29
@Blake
First I heard of it. I just enchanted an item so that it had five sockets. Then I added five gems to it, went to the gem-destroyer and got the item without the gems as expected. Tried the same with only two gems, worked as well. Filled it with five gems again, went to the gem-recoverer and got the five gems back as expected. So I couldn't reproduce this problem at my end, need (much) more info.
BlaKe 13. apr. 2013 kl. 3:01
Is there a fix for the crashing when you try to remove the gems inside the sockets `?????
Drgnfyre 11. apr. 2013 kl. 17:28
Awesome mod. Minor annoyance that he walks away like the other enchanters but you can just leave and come back and there he is again.
Goro3D 10. apr. 2013 kl. 11:01
oh ok cause was looking for this guy lol well ok so I will not rush to find him now lol!
Thanks.
ParkWalker 10. apr. 2013 kl. 10:42
@*EGN*Virus$
You can access the maproom after you have completed the game the first time (around level 50)
Goro3D 10. apr. 2013 kl. 10:00
So think you guys can tell me where this maproom is cause now I'm totally lost!
Thanks in advance/
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 10. apr. 2013 kl. 5:29
Yes, I chose this place for him because this area is accessible from all acts via the teleporter once you first found the area with a character. I figured that it'd be a good compromise becuase I didn't want to overwrite the layouts of all other towns as well.
Bongwater Pizza 9. apr. 2013 kl. 21:23
@virus "Cedric, the salty socketer has arrived in the maproom" right there, the first sentence of the mod description.
Goro3D 9. apr. 2013 kl. 16:32
Well I went to the first town 2 times and he isn't there any ideas?
Goro3D 9. apr. 2013 kl. 15:11
Haha this is cool will make a great adition to my 1 mod I have installed lol!
Soap 9. apr. 2013 kl. 12:06
yes it re-appers which is good
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 9. apr. 2013 kl. 11:10
Hm, I encountered this once during testing, but then I set "cannot wander" and "wander radius" approprietely for the unit and didn't encounter it ever since. I didn't discover anything other settings which might incluence this behaviour, maybe the option is bugged in some cases. Does the mob re-appear once you leave and re-enter the area?
Soap 9. apr. 2013 kl. 10:09
@t-oastbro-t
actually its working perfectly though it walks off the map after you're done talknig to him
really good work with the mod :D thanks a bunch!
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 9. apr. 2013 kl. 9:06
@DeathBySoap
Fix what? I'm afraid you'll have to be more precise since you're the first one mentioning any problems with it. What's not working for you and in combination with which other mods?
Soap 9. apr. 2013 kl. 7:21
not sure if it works, or maybe the mod has to be first on the list. please fix this.
Pheast45 8. apr. 2013 kl. 19:33
This mod makes a character way OP lol. Definitely fun for just screwing around though.
1832 6. apr. 2013 kl. 21:43
hi again. i just used the mod and removed it to my list, it doesn't affect your character.
thanks for a great mod. :)
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 6. apr. 2013 kl. 13:19
@JianDante
I honestly couldn't tell, because I never tried it. I can't imagine why, unless items with more than two or three sockets are considered "modded items". I don't think that's the case, though, because this mod doesn't do anything which wasn't in the game to begin with. It's no new type of item or stat or anything, just the continuation of what the normal socket-enchanter does, only that i made a new character which offers those services at a pinned location and with up to five sockets instead of two. Maybe I'll copy my savegame back to the normal version and try it out, but not today, sorry.
1832 6. apr. 2013 kl. 13:10
hi. will this affect my character if i try to play a game and remove this in my mod list?
BaldyWookie 6. apr. 2013 kl. 10:54
no, it does not count as an enchantment and it doesn't disentchant.
TK 5. apr. 2013 kl. 14:00
does this take up item enchantment levels like regular socket enchanters? (when you clear an item's enchants, do the sockets go away as well?)
Demerzel 5. apr. 2013 kl. 7:58
Even to unique?
Dante 4. apr. 2013 kl. 16:50
I know I've seen an item or two that has 4-5 slots and it looks like there's (visually) room for 3 on either side so I was guessing at a limit of 6.

5 is great. Thanks.
Zasso 4. apr. 2013 kl. 16:44
4 or 5 is perfect, heck even 3 would be nice already
availableusername  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2013 kl. 16:06
@Dante
Okay, I added the ability to add a fifth socket, won't come cheap though. ;)
But that seems to be the "reasonable" upper limit iirc. I could add more, if I went directly into the dat-file and added the higher levels manually, but the game is only able to display five sockets.
Plus: Socketing is a nice way of customizing and balancing the character. And having 6 sockets per item instead of 3-5 doesn't really increase your options in terms of HOW you want your character to improve, just by HOW MUCH, because you'll choose only a limited number of gem-types which make sense for the class. And for that, we could use more powerful (modded) gems, which offer the desired stat-increase or effect. Better than to cram six gems or more into every item, because that's tedious rather than fun.
Dante 4. apr. 2013 kl. 15:17
Sweet, I've been waiting for something like this. Is 4 the limit? It looks like there's room for 6.
