-way too many large enemy mobs
-way too many cheap traps, 3 of them occurring one after the other in the 10th map (falling bridge, the floor falling to reveal the slide in the dark, with a pit in the middle you can't see coming, and the long white flash of light in the final Antlion arena, allowing them to get in a hit before you can see)
-and the big thing i wanted to mention which ruins the experience for me: the hostile rebels. they have way better accuracy than the combine, shoot way more frequently, and given the hordes of them, you're pretty much tight-roping with whether you live or die, and you mostly die.
for atmosphere, these maps do really well. but on the combat side of things, there's improvements to be had, which i assume that they have been made in the years since this map pack has been on the workshop. 2018 is a long time ago, and i have no doubt that the creator has had time to improve.
Someone doesn't read descriptions to find out if they are MISSING something!
-Some maps feel more like filler as nothing happens in them and nothing would be lost if they were skipped
-Some of the Badlands maps have error textures for skyboxes as well as the archways in map 10
-The rebels that are probably meant to be hostile aren't and if they were the lack of cover would be even worse as rebels have much better aim then the combine
- A squad of Elite combine that came out of a lift were all immortal. If this was meant to happen then it was a very bad idea as the player has no way of telling that they aren't immortal without shooting them first and it makes no logical sense why they would suddenly be immortal combine soliders.
Depsite all these problems I still enjoyed playing these maps though I'd suggest maybe getting some feedback from proper HL2 mappers. runthinkshootlive.com is a good place to start as alot of their reg members are seasoned mappers. They might even point out a few things that I missed.
- There is usually not enough cover in some areas such as the badlands areas and corridors for both you and the combine to use.
- It's hard to tell what doors you can open and what doors you can't open due to the lack of door handles
- Having turrets around every corner is less tension building and more annoying
-Some gaps you're meant to jump look much too large to jump such as the broken bridge
I really like your "Another Universe" series as a whole. I love the concept of adventure maps set in the world of TF2, but I know you have to compromise with only so much GMod can provide for you to work with. So if youwant to check out that thread I linked or if you want consider TF2 adventure maps in the future that be great!
