Since I started playing again I followed your on-screen instructions explicitly. However, I'm finding that the followers have reverted to their annoying vanilla actions. Could you advice why this may be?
Remove this plugin from your data folder, then subscribe to "Horses for Followers" (link on the right). Then head over to Nexus and get the hotfix to replace the plugin.
When you play, just go to a stable and buy your own horse (if you haven't got one yet), then buy the followers horse. You should see "I need a horse for my companion." Companion = followers, hirelings and, if you have done the quests, The Companion Guild members. There are other type of special followers but they aren't included yet.
Can you help me out??
When you say freeze, was that the whole game or an animation stopped? If it was a stuck animation you could have opened the console , click the frozen NPC and type disable . turn console off and the NPC disappears. Immediately turn console on again and type enable . Don't lose the ID if ever you do this. Then the animation state fixes itself. Another way is to go through a load door and return sometimes works.
Its recommended to install over a clean save because the new versions of Horse For Followers is structured differently. If you click this link: Horses For Followers or click the link on the right under Required Items . Go down to the comments section and find one of mine dated 16 Oct. There I show how to install over partially cleaned save.
This is to ensure that it cannot clash with the new version of Horses For Followers, which no longer requires this file. Just follow the Partially Clean Save install described by the new mod and readmes.
Thanks.
Didnt need any fiddling...just clicked subscribe and it worked (along with the other mods that go wth this ofc)
Subbd Favd
These are things i have\done that might triggered it to worked (not sure) i am a bit surprised that out of the blue it works again.
1) I have SKSE for some mods (this might be the solution but i ran this one before and still it didn't work so not quite sure).
2) I un-subscribed and subscribed again and opened Skyrim through steam so it can update (had done that before and got erros like my topic under here mentioned but it may made it work).
3) Quicksave before buying a horse buy one go on your Companion horse and if the mod works she will go onto Your horse (companion horses are cooler then those that we get :\ ) If it aint working exit let steam check for possible updates and open Steam through SKSE.
Try this out and maybe it will go to work if not let me know then i have to check what i did (not editing mod) what did make it work. I will do my best to help everyone out.
I have been using this mod before and it seemed to work back then but now it aint working :\
Its been a long time since i played Skyrim Last and wanted to enjoy the awsome mods the modding community created.
This is the problem when i open Skyrim (through steam ofcourse) it will detect all mods installed and then it says that an error accured when it scans Horse for Followers.
Does anyone got an idea on how to make this work? I also have the mod better follower improvements but Lydia (not sure if other companions 2) won't mount her horse :\
If anyone know a way to get this fixed i would appreciate it :) This mod was amazing and i want to make use of it once again :)
Thanks

Ask at the modding forums if there is a way to edit my plugin to include the dawnguard esm in both my plugins header. You can try installing the Creation Kit - but make a backup of my plugins first.
Watch "Creation Kit Tutorial Series - Episode 1: Introduction to the Kit" on Youtube.
Start Creation Kit, click FILE > DATA and make sure only one of my plugins is ticked (not both). Make sure dawnguard esm is ticked and the skyrim esm. You only want those three. Then select my esp and click "Set as active file". Then click OK and this will load all three files. Ignore error warnings as the creation tool is buggy. Then just save. This will now associate my plugin with Dawnguard.
Repeat those steps for my other plugin.
