I am kind of discouraged. People still download this. The two new sub I created to replace it are superior in every aspect.

Do I am missing something? I mean, outside of workshop broken popularity system?

Cab 1 is out!
RedParadize  [author] 9 May, 2018 @ 8:22am
Small heads up. I may do small corrective update, but overall this is the definitive version of the sub. As I will release two new submarine in the near future™. The Cab 1 and Flatbed, as they are named in the movie Abyss. Cab 1 will be smaller and quicker. Flatbed will feature a robotic arm and be bigger.

EMT4
That's the one it look like the most. I didn't check reference before starting. I happened to have a mash up of all abyss submarine in my head as my vision of what subs look like.

The next one I will name Cab One. It still look a bit more like the Flatbed than the actual Cab. But is about half the size of this one.

Flatbed!

As promised, I added your link. I would not say its better trough :steammocking: Not without ballast and ability to turn on itself. But there is some potential into that.

I am currently doing another sub, I learned allot doing the first one. It will feature a single ballast for the depth. The pitch will be handled with moving counterweight. Should be more efficent and small.

Sorry I missed your first comment. I will take a look

I kind of have the idea of doing another sub, then it will all depend of the feature they bring to the game. Excluding the sub, as there is no use for it yet. I am mostly oriented toward the practical vehicle. Rover in the current state of the game make no sense. As for a seabed rover, I do not see how it could become practical. Will see.
guerillamannam 29 Apr, 2018 @ 6:04am
Btw i love your creations have you though of making a rover that works on the seabed?

I am sure that system would work better with large ballast ass on the scale of my subs it empty realy fast but there is still delay before the ship star moving. That's a problem as your gyro meanwhile will keep reasing the value. So you have to tweak it until it work right for your ship. But thats not so hard. What mather most is the shape of your ship, center of mass and center of buoyancy empty and full. Your ballast, if you want to keep it simple, should be under your center of mass and buoyancy when full and not flip your ship when empty.

Now, you have the theory. Time to do allot of trial and error!

On my part I have 3 Ballast, one for depth, two for pitch. Now, I do not think you need 3. there is other way to handle that, first, if your sub is well balanced it will float streight and then you just have to align propultion with mass and drag.

Find the gyro, look what Up Down is connected. Pump only take a on off, so what I did is I took one node -More than- and one -Less Than- and make them compare gyro Up Down output to two fix values. The set value have to be between 0 and 1 as it is the range of the pump. You need two in order to have a buffer, how large is your buffer will decide the responsiveness of the pump. In my case it had to be close. Then the Less Than/More Than are connected to two pumps. Less Than pump water out of the ballast, More Than Pump Water in.

the only thing that stop me for now is a depth auto pilot
(i don't know how to do it)

Again it's me . i've taken what you said in consideration and i modified my submarine , but your is now out and i don't think mine is better than your so....

the crane can lift it up and the ship can still go a fast on it's hydrofoils

More or less, inspired from both the Cab and the Flatbed. As I remembered them at least. It's when I decided to look at image that I realised that my memory ad mashed all of them into one!
