Aaaaand Its here! B19 to 1.0 had absolutely no new changes, and all the new foods work flawlessly (at a glance) with the new food restriction system.

So apparently 1.0 is on its way sooner than I anticipated, so I'm going to be skipping a B19 release. I apologize for those who were looking forward to it, but 1.0 is 'content ready' and Tynan is telling us modders to git goin' on updating.. soooo

Don't worry though, I've already included numerous improvements to the mod to make it worth the wait!

B19 is on its way, though I've been/still am busy with work/sick/etc. Plus I haven't been keeping up with whats new with B19, so I have to change a few things, as some of the things my mod added are now in the base game.

Haven't forgotten about y'all though!

this mod is a work of art. eating coffee when hungry might be the only thing, and even that seems pretty good lol. really adds to tribal gameplay, strongly recommended mod.

So what is the best meal to make? i've got a bunch of weak stew in my current colony and I have all this different stuff growing. It says that some needs meat, fruit, veg, spices, etc. How can I tell which different items I need? I know about the details include menu, but they are arranged in a way that I can't tell... .25 nutrition is listed 3 or 4 times but from what categories does that pull? Meats and veg only? Meat, veg, processed stuff? I dunno. I think this is a base game issue, not the mod.

Well i agree with the art in VG. Its very good and professionel but it doesnt blend in with RimWorld. I just like how VG makes the game at least a touch eas cause use hundreds of other mods. Most have stuff they need or make the game more difficult unintentionally cause they add stuff and needs which vanilla doesnt supply you with. Ex: Bad Hygene, No Water No life.

I'm noticing my colonists are getting happy after eating "rare" or "exotic" food items. I'm assuming that's from this mod, but I'm curious what foods specifically care considered rare or exotic, and what's considered "Common".

@TheGster someday possibly! At the very least make it so they don't give errors right now. I did some testing on it, and they *work* together, just not properly. A few graphical errors (minor overall) but the VG fruits are in their own category that my recipes can't use, and their grains are in the vegetables category, so they work just not *properly*.

Its my intention to have this be an alternative to VG - thats why my original intention was not to make them compatable.

So maybe someday a patch? Or at least keeping some of its feature like growing rare things like Uranium Root and Jade Fern and other features???

can the dried or pickled meat/fruits/veggies still be used for the stews?

ie : dried meat is still essentially meat (but no sickness for pawn), plus it takes a long time to rot.

but dried meat can also still be used for stews?

@golden for future, and now if you are still suffering, harvesting wild beries gives decent nutrition and doesnt give raw food thoughts, to rehab your colonists i would suggest putting them in a really nizce rec room connected to a good dining room and keeping them there without caffine. the high quality buffs should outweigh the withdrawels. if this doent work for whatever reason try to slowly reduce their caffine intake. worst comes to worst lock them in a saferoom and let them have mental breaks if the withdrawl causes them, do this unbtil colonist are no longer addicted.

@golden They shouldn't be doing that - I put Coffee as "NeverforNutrition", so they should never eat it for food as a last resort. Its WM Smart Food Selection thats messing that up - I'll add it to my to-do list to see if I can figure out what in that mod is screwing it up, since its directly related to my stuff.

In the mean time, forbid the caffeine until your cook can get around to making meals again. I can't say when an update will be out as I have quite a few things going on at the moment, but I'll definitely look into it.

I have a bug to report:

So, out of the blue all of my colonists decided to dedicate their lives to drinking coffee. They did absolutely nothing but drink coffee. For ages. All of them now have massive tolerences and addiction to caffine. I could not for the life of me figure out why, until I realized something.

They were hungry,

My cook was incapacitated, so there were no meals being made. They were desperatly trying to milk the tiny bit of food gain they got from drinking coffee, because that was the best meal avaliable to them. (I have WM smart food selection btw)

So, pls fix? I think it might work if it was classified as a drug, but I've never really done any modding.

Are the stews basically just flavor reskins of simple/fine meals? I can't seem to find a difference between them.

And by the way, this mod is awesome and should be incorporated into vanilla, it's a must for me 😁

@tosenbo I'm working on that. When I first started working on the mod, I didn't know how to use patching operations, so the code is a little bit messy.

@inteBeppe You need to research basic food preservation before you can start drying meat. Its done at a campfire or cooking station afterwards.

How do you dry meat? Is it supposed to be on the cooking spot? If so, is there any known mod-issue that removes it?
