when i go to load in, i get an error message saying it exceeds 16 million pixels
GrandT  [author] 26 Jan, 2020 @ 7:27pm
The Midlands map is too unstable to record with. Some of the crashes can blue-screen, or stop OBS, which means losing recordings.
Adie Gibbs 26 Jan, 2020 @ 7:52am
So is there any thing I can do? Why is the series coming
To a end tomorrow. I have enjoyed watching your YouTube
Videos reference the Midlands Map.
GrandT  [author] 25 Jan, 2020 @ 5:35pm
Same for me pretty much, which is why the series is coming to an end tomorrow. It's the nature of the beast, and shouldn't have been possible (I'm assuming you're referencing the Midlands Map). All this mod can do is delay the inevitable, depending on map size/towns and PC specs that may come sooner rather than later.
Adie Gibbs 25 Jan, 2020 @ 11:58am
I have played this map once and was brilliant. Now it takes so long to load...... I can go out for a couple of hours and just about loaded.... then once in the map it is very choppy and lags. All other mods/scripts/maps work fine.
GrandT  [author] 30 Jul, 2019 @ 8:14pm
n.chiri: It might work with the correct load order. Failing that, you could always remove the line in the script which removes vegetation - it should be fairly self explanatory.
n.chiri 30 Jul, 2019 @ 6:58pm
Can I combine this with some sort of vegetation mod? I like the idea of having stable performance and limited town growth, but I definitely don't want a world completely void of vegetation, and I'm not really willing to place all of it by myself. I wish having detailed and varied worlds was a lot easier.

Well it didnt with me, before i uninstalled i coudl start any type of game not a problem, when i noticed the population restrictions i uninstalled it, and only that addon, afterwards i cant get a single game started. so it has to of had some type of effect.
GrandT  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 8:09am
It leaves nothing behind and can be enabled/disabled/uninstalled freely. It's a text file.
wolfiee 2 Jun, 2019 @ 7:14am
Its got nothing to do with what he says or doesnt say, I removed his addon and now no game will load and no new game will start, his scripting has completly wrecked teh game, obviously his addon leaves something behind
wabbithunta 2 Jun, 2019 @ 1:47am
@wolflee
Have you taken a look at your game settings, and follow his advice on the settings required.

I suggest you read what GrandT has written (What it does) and also take a look at his Youtube series. He runs rail systems that are big (huge even) take a look at his maps and count the towns etc. Also he runs trains with multiple carriages etc.
wolfiee 1 Jun, 2019 @ 5:03am
This addon completly wrecks the game, the cities start at population of 50 60. So from 1850-2000 with city resources at 100% the populations went up by maybe 5? the whole point of the game is to build bigger and more complex rail systems, this mod means most trains run with 1 carradge.

Mod not work and visible ... all save crash ....
Le CF 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:13pm
Hello the mod no fonctionaly on my save tutorial for use ?
GrandT  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 3:34am
Add it to the game as a standard mod. It runs passively adjusting various config settings.
little_c 6 Feb, 2019 @ 6:45pm
i cant get it running
little_c 6 Feb, 2019 @ 6:45pm

This mod is used for removing the creation of initial street connections, and I checked, it also disables the need for road connection. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=894751261

My mod is really designed for those playing with "No Cost" mod enabled for scenery work and recreations. I really must try it out with a normal game and see just how hard it makes it.
B4mdk 11 Aug, 2018 @ 2:21pm
Do you know of a mod that removes the need for town connections without the other things in this mod ? I used it on a savegame and not making profit anymore, so might disable it again. But I like the possibility to remove need for town connections.
GrandT  [author] 19 Jul, 2018 @ 1:10am
It may take a while to balance, but an Ultra Hard mode would be an interesting mod. We'll leave this one as "Also includes Brutal Hard Mode".
NeonHaggis 18 Jul, 2018 @ 8:47pm
Yeah might be a little to brutal on hard - even with passanger service and near 100% food provided my initial towns went down hill. Any chance of a version for hard that tones it back a wee bit? It's a great little mod.
GrandT  [author] 18 Jul, 2018 @ 12:30am
Oh that's interesting. It's designed for Sandbox (and possibly Easy/Medium to make them harder). It may make hard mode, "Ultra Hard". I'm eager to play a hard mode map with this enabled now.
NeonHaggis 17 Jul, 2018 @ 9:57pm
Like the sound of this but when I tried it on a new map my towns all shrunk and faded away - maybe because I was playing on 'hard'?
GrandT  [author] 26 Jun, 2018 @ 3:54pm
Disabling the mod will return to default settings, yes.
TaGG 26 Jun, 2018 @ 3:50pm
Hi mate sorry to bother you but if this changes game settings what happens if you want to return vanilla will it reset the changed script
GrandT  [author] 11 Jun, 2018 @ 1:59am
Ahh. If it's activated in the mod list it'll be working. What it does is change internal game settings.
gavt1976 11 Jun, 2018 @ 1:41am
I have add it to the mod list, but still i can not see it in game.
GrandT  [author] 11 Jun, 2018 @ 1:16am
It should appear in your mod list as "GrandT's Massive Map Settings" as a script mod.
gavt1976 10 Jun, 2018 @ 3:06pm
Can somebody tell me where i find this mod in my game, because i cannot see it anywhere in my game.
RolandBP 2 Jun, 2018 @ 6:47pm
Thanks GrandT, I note there is someway it can be added to an existing map or saved game?
Not sure how that is done and hope there is a tutorial on the procedure.
GrandT  [author] 2 Jun, 2018 @ 6:30pm
Thanks Roland, the mod I use is another one of mine, Painter, and comes with all the textures you see in the series, and thanks for watching too! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1331998307
RolandBP 2 Jun, 2018 @ 6:27pm
I see in your YouTube series that you use some type of tool to create a shape around your fields to give various ground textures to the fields within it. Where can I find this "Tool" and also where can I find these ground textures like the ploughed field or crops, etc.
What you have achieved in the series is incredible.
Buzzer 14 May, 2018 @ 3:30pm
Thank you
GrandT  [author] 12 May, 2018 @ 5:12am
I believe it's population. But it could be area of the map. I'd lean towards the former though.
Buzzer 11 May, 2018 @ 3:13pm
Is the game.config.maxTownSize number the amount of population, or is it something else?
GrandT  [author] 7 May, 2018 @ 4:17am
It should work, I'm not 100% sure which settings apply, obviously the tree's and start town size won't. But, the rest could.
wabbithunta 6 May, 2018 @ 11:56pm
Out of interest, can this mod be used on saved games?
Owen M 4 May, 2018 @ 9:24am
Thank Guys
GrandT  [author] 4 May, 2018 @ 9:12am
It's certainly something I'll consider going over in a short video. Although I don't know what every setting does.
rb58nl 4 May, 2018 @ 9:03am
After the explanation of GP Zola, I looked up the file folder and I do see quite a lot of options in there... I presume that this will enable you to change a number of things in the game...Like the number of trees or the size of your cities... Would it maybe an idea to make a video on this? Im not a computer nerd but it does look interesting enough to know how to manually manipulate your maps
GrandT  [author] 4 May, 2018 @ 7:38am
lol Zola, and thanks for helping out couppa :)

@couppa What Zola said, and don't worry. First time I had to enable that setting took a lot of searching and faffing about. I wish it was an in-game setting.
Grandpa Zola 4 May, 2018 @ 6:46am
Couppa : go to:

rb58nl 4 May, 2018 @ 6:39am
Oh hi Slim... Just like to let you know that Iove your channel....
Owen M 4 May, 2018 @ 4:45am
Hi guys, I’m 70 year old OAP, I’m Not thick, well I didn’t think I was until I tried to find and enable experimental map sizes, where do I find them, I know it’s in the game setting, but is that in game or out of the game, Any help please
GrandT  [author] 3 May, 2018 @ 3:23am
lol But then you can plant many trees!
SlimNasty™ 3 May, 2018 @ 2:47am
You know a certain person on my channel is not going to like the Tree Removal lol :MUDpitstop:
GrandT  [author] 3 May, 2018 @ 2:12am
It'll work on any map, and you add it as a mod like any other. However, you'll still need to enable experimental map sizes as usual to use those map sizes.
rb58nl 3 May, 2018 @ 1:20am
How do I use this MOD? Does it also allow you to play on a huge map? (larger than the game standard size) and does it also work on a random map (other than your ECML map)
