The AI just seem to run around like headless chickens... They even sent their javelins into melee combat without using their ammo first...

I have updated the mod yesterday. Should be working alright now. I will update it again in a few days once I tested some changes i made to the terrain stat effects.

i will take a look at the reload speed of archers after the new patch drops.
I also dont like how long they need to reload.

If you're able to, try combine this with ammo refill and the non-idling archer mods?

Likewise, I'm also testing this with the more men per unit mod. I think the increased unit sizes, along with prolonged combat, are the tonic to fix battles ending way too quickly, giving them a bit more stamina, and increasing their size, helps to offset the morale too.

This mod, coupled with Cinematic Battle Mod + Shield Down While Marching makes for some epic and cinematic battles! :DominaMurmillo:

Since the latest update the running speed for all units was reduced by ~20%

Been trying this with "more men per unit" https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1378054524 - seems a nice combo

Im currently testing lower movement speeds but this often leads to animation glitches, so we´ll see^^

Sounds like a nice mod, though I have to ask: Did you also lower units movement speed? I always felt that they were just too fast, giving not much time to react on developments.

Will take it for a spin tomorrow mate, thanks for the work so far!
Cotton Eye Joe  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 1:05pm
thanks for the feedback!
I have just updated the mod and the losing current combat modifier was slightly reduced.
I have also reduced the charge timer in which the charge bonus is applied which led to very short engagements in certain situations.

Just tried this mod and my battle was at least doubled in length (fought as Scots against rebels) compared to the vanilla experience. Nice job! :HanzosShadow:

Thanks for the response Jack. I'd say generally in the period levy's were good meatshields (see Alfred's success), so don't feel like you're compromising realism. I think levy's should hold just a little worse than pricey units, but have signfiicantly lower melee attack.

All your other changes are excellent though, so please do let me know when you've tweaked that and I'll re-install this before you can say 'awesome modder' <3

So happy to see a battle mod so early on into the workshop integration. I like this game thus far, but the battles are way too fast. I hope this mod makes them lenghtier and more enjoyable. Thank you! :SlyNinja:

I am currently working on improving that although I dont want levy troops to be reliable.
I´ll try to increase the time until cheap units start to rout.

Like your ideas here and for a first effort it's very close to perfect. Unfortunately you're going to have to adjust the 'losing current combat' modifier. It makes levy units route at about 120 men when the enemy is only winning by 10 or so kills. I like dynamic morale (DeI is a fave) but this a way too intense. You literally cannot hold a battle line for more than 15-20 seconds. One unit comes out 'ahead' the other's morale implodes.
