I don't think any of the updates that came after this mod broke it so in theory it should still work. However I honestly have no idea and no intentions of finding out. Best of luck to you.

higher chance nothing else but it also reduces the chance for trash to drop such as grey/white.

This mod just adds bigger chances to loot everything or does it change loot tables, etc.?

as the name of the mod suggest and as the description says it increased the drop change of items in the game.

I only discovered TL2 now, lol! loving it so far. by the way, i know u say the mod hasnt been updated in forever, but looking at the date of this mod, it looks like there was only one or two new minor patches released after u posted the mod - i wouldnt have thought the mod would break from that? anyway, ill give it a whirl.

I have some quick questions please. Does this increase drop rate of gems (Eyes and Skulls) and spells? Also, does it affect the Golden and Boss chests?

@Adult Toys, I havent been messing with GUTS since this was last updated in april 2013, i can barely remember any of it :) If my memory serves me right then if a container/chest has a magic find of 200 it means that it will increase the drop chance of the items it is set to spawn by 200% meaning if an item has 0,001% chance it then haves 0,003%. So TLDR: yes i think what you asking is correct :)

@Phixsator, how did you understand magic find in guts? If you put in a number under magic find let's say 50. Will the game translate that to 50% magic find?

Go ahead :) mod away. and tips well i only used the tutorials a little the rest i figured out by my self, took a little while but was a lot of fun. So i would say take your time, do it because its fun and dont rush.

@phizsator, I wanted to make a mod that changes drop rates so that only rare items drop (for various reasons) and I wanted to base it on your mod. I got two questions:
1. can I base whatever I do on your mod?
2. got any tips for a first time GUTS user (other than stuff found in tutorials and such)?

The mod itself was made a long time ago and has never been updated. The mod should still work due to the relative small changes in it. It doesnt do much else than change a few values for drops and should override anything the developer has put in since.

Thanks for the mod! One thing I'm noticing on the mod loader is that this particular mod shows as being for an older version of Torchlight 2, does this effect it's functionality at all?

Thats a bit tough to say because its not working like that to begin with. Its not just a flat out drop rate increase. Instead several types of chests have had their drop chance increased and the effect of magic find increased to incourage people using the stat. Also some bigger mobs and boss have had their loot drop enhanced but towards uniques than anything else. Since its all different values depending on the size or rarerity of the chest/mob/boss its hard to give you a specific number. Though you should be able to get around 2-5 uniques per chapter, perhaps even more just be prepared for a lot of stuff you cannot use :) the power of RND! :)

This mod will get recieve any further updates. It is working so i shall leave it as it is and move my focus towards my complete enhancer mod instead were most of future updates will come(including any that relates to drop rates). This mod will be left here for your convinience

Yeah I did a fresh start with mod files, using the scaling difficulties mod with huge stash and respec potion. It's harder this time around on my Outlander compared to launch, I went to 60 straight from Elite with 0 issues. I've had to farm an extra zone or two on the new playthrough.

Ive started out on Elite and i had to tone it down got murdered horribly :P. I think if you are starting out fresh its actually a bit hard to begin with due to the lower amount of trash to fond your gold pile. Limits things a bit, but its fun.

Thats a bit hard to say cause i didnt just adjuct some drop values. I've add't quiet a few unique drop chances to chests and champs that didnt have them before. But if i had to make a guess i would say normal loot such as grey,white and standard magic(useless) has been reduced to roughly 80% i think, the enchanted magic items have not been touched, the unique drop chances have been buffed i would say between 10 to 20 times, even more so if you are using magic find on your equipment (standard bonus has been raised from 0% benefit to 200% from MF). Ive started a new toon and so fare after reaching 15 and completing everything on every map (uptil the zone where you have to find the 2 gems to open the portal in ACT1) ive found roughly 12 unique(most has been useless to :P).

Just curious, what are the normal/vanilla rates compared to your mod rates as of the current version?
