All these years later, still the only map I'll use when loading up CS again.

Merci d'avoir pris le temps d'écrire enzo.says.
Visiting this place (over 10 years ago) was the most amazing trip I ever made and I wanted to give back as much as I recieved during this summer of 2004.

Glad you like that I added the sea, it was a tough call as I wanted to make this as accurate as I could in the first place. Please don't hesitate if you have suggestions upon playing the map which could help improve my skills for later maps. 😀

Amazing work man ! I come here thanks to Bonbonb review. adding the sea is very clever, the gorge de la Bourne are a pure beauty, I don't even imagine the numbers of hours you've spent on it. The castle to represent the maison suspendu at Pont en Royans is really good.
and the arrival on Presle is magic! even the old factory near the Sône is here :) the attention to detail is really high.

(Je vois que tu es parti d'une map avec terrain.party. Je voulais faire une dans le meme genre en ajoutant un peu plus de Vercors mais les différences d'altitude trop importante faussent la map, super boulot, merci)

This map is amazing, so beautiful and rich but challenging at the same time. Thank you for your work!

@deeheks (ref. your reply to me on April 9. at 2:24)
I chose the Supreme edition.

(It took me a while, I completely upgraded my game PC to a nice high spec... :) )
So now I have the horse power to run a city of any size - which makes the Supreme the right choise: No limits when the rural hamlets start to merge into small towns and on to a huge megapolis on this map.

We'll see how it will develop. The game shall decide along with me!

Thanks mate! Glad you like it! Stay tuned for a new edition this summer!

Really awesome work man! I am not sure how I missed this :X GREAT WORK
Deeheks  [author] 10 Jun, 2018 @ 4:29am
@dannyman Glad you got around the issues and could get it to load with decent performances. If you want to improve it in the future, just get the tree brush tool , biggest size at a very low intensity and delete trees. 750 000 trees is a lot to handle but was a cost to pay for getting the look and feel I wanted. 😀

(Per my last comment, adding a swap file to my 16GB Ubuntu system gets the map loaded. Running around 20GB now but the game feels responsive on the virgin Royan Supreme map.

Are there other maps similar to this one, where there is a network of roads connecting rural town sites, but which have fewer dependencies? My computer seems to lack the oomph for this scenario to load.

Sweet castle, can't wait to put a park around it!
Deeheks  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 5:20pm
Thanks guys! Really glad you like it so much! It's been a long journey decorating this beautiful landscape and I think it was worth it! I also can't wait to start building on it once Park Life kicks in.

Testudo, let me know which one you chose and why!
RISE | Foxgguy2001 7 May, 2018 @ 2:57pm
Hahaha Right Testudo. I hadn't played for months either, and now I just can't stop playing.
testudo 6 May, 2018 @ 4:24pm
*This* (or the standard edition, I'll still have to decide on that) is the map that has just made me to decide to continue playing C:S after a several months' hiatus!

I LOVE the potential for many small rural towns in the start, to allow them to grow organically as time goes by, and merge into a few large cities - or even one single Megapolis in the end.

Kudos!

Thanks, will have a play
Deeheks  [author] 6 May, 2018 @ 12:16pm
Gravel road in elevated mode will end up like this my friend!
Westrex 6 May, 2018 @ 10:49am
Thanks for your quick reply, not sure we are talking about the same road, I have taken a screenshot https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198215787745/screenshot/929308895600415748

this is the road asset I was hoping to identify.
RISE | Foxgguy2001 6 May, 2018 @ 10:38am
Man you've outdone yourself this time. You can tell a whole lot of thought and detailing went into this one. It's exceptional. I especially like the very natural looking waterfalls, the castle, and how natural the landscape looks.

Perfect. :47_thumb_up:
Deeheks  [author] 6 May, 2018 @ 10:22am
These are elevated gravel roads. Using an elevated type road will let you follow terrain without conforming it, and you will be able to adjust terrain and optionally integrate walls underneath.
Westrex 6 May, 2018 @ 9:09am
Hi, great map! what road did you use for the raised winding roads.. would like to make a few minor changes to them.. Thanks
blackwiddow 6 May, 2018 @ 3:27am
Absolutely beautiful :)
