@Styx That will likely be helpful, thanks for the tip!

Additional Joy objects by cupro has the rotatable easels and wall mounted paintings, might be a useful reference if you want to sift through the code. It only has a static image for wall paintings though.

@BabyCakes I was also thinking that wall-mounted painting would be fantastic, I'll have to look into how to do that some time. Larger paintings are another great idea, thanks!

Oh, definity try to add wall mounting paintings, and larger paintings too.

@Chairman Meow Are you referring to the easel or the paintings? The paintings are not rotatable, the original mod dev tried to do that. I could probably make the easel rotatable, I'd just have to make graphics for the side and back views.
Meow 20 May, 2018 @ 11:13am
are you supposed to not be able to rotate the stencils?

@yes_commander It's all good. :) I use Psychology as well, it's great for adding a more character to pawns.

yes_commander and Faeldray thanks for the suggestions :)

Yeah, there are more objects to boost the Joy slider than mods that add uplifting story moments for the pawns. And I'm not exactly out to lead a peaceful civilization or anything (I'm playing with the Lovecraft storyteller and the Cults mod, after all), but I do like there to be a lot of variety in pawns' actions and activities. So, Psychology is important to me, More Mental Breaks, various trait mods, and Therapy has some potential to create interesting situations. For music, P-Music, Old Gods and Tangerine Labs all blend well. (Sorry to keep discussing other mods on your page, @Faeldray!)

If you guys like adding more beauty to RimWorld, the Zen Garden and New Joy Source: Play Music mods might be right up your alley. I wish I could think of more beauty that were pawn actions as opposed to objects, but I can't really think of any. Maybe the Hospitality mod? It feels like a bit of a stretch.

@danillo.vl.mason - That link has more of a suggestion for a mod, but I'd love to play with it if anyone made it a reality (hopefully patched for Psychology!). The story of the pawn having her spine repaired, or the non-violent pawn going to battle to save their friend/lover -- those would be amazing moments. Right now though, Pawns Paint + Inspiration is a good combo! The day after a mental break caused by writing the grimoire of the occult (Cthulhu Cults mod) my intellectual/artist went on an 'Inspired' painting spree which helped ease the loss of sanity. Fun story moment for me anyway. :)

@Faeldray - I was considering trying to find some once I get a clean mod setup going for B18. I'll search around in the next few days and see what I can come up with!
Faeldray  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 3:16am
@yes_commander If you know if there are any Bob Ross paintings that are public domain, I could totally add them. If not, there's no reason you couldn't add some yourself for your own use.

Looking forward to recruiting a little Rimworld Bob Ross now! I'm not sure if actual Bob Ross paintings would be permitted, but if they were... ;)

I missed this mod.
