Check it out and tell it here. Thank you.
Experiments are part of the game ;-)

does this still work it hasnt been updated in years

@Takeshi Thanks for your time!

Play arround with existing stuff and use SE-Discord for questions. Weapons like that are using more than one model and in the models are dummys, they show the psoition where other models are connected. Check SE MOD SDK for the models from game. Is not easy, need a while to get first positive results. Have a nice day :-)

Thanks for the info! How would one best go about diving into making weapons like that? I'd love to experiment with other weapons. Like say I have mods with weapons I like, would it be possible to make gimbaled versions of those?
Takeshi  [author] 1 Jul, 2020 @ 9:48am
Yes, thats right. I dont know exacttly if you tell me this as positiv or negativ feedback.
(the challenge was to adjust the models according to the correct angles so that they fit the normal turret model)
jackik 30 Jun, 2020 @ 7:43pm
Simple version: They are turrets with normal turret aim, afaik.
Resh 30 Jun, 2020 @ 2:00pm
omg can there be more weapons like this? This is awesome. There are so many cool weapon mods that add cool new weapons but they never have gimbaled turrets like this! More weapon authors need to be adding forward facing +/- 5 Degrees aiming versions of their weapons.

I was customizing a Swordfish (Spikes ship from cowboy bebop) and since the guns are way out on the wings you can't really hit anything if you line your nose up. These gimbal style version of the gatling guns are perfect for aiming toward the center of my viewpoint.

Great job on these. How'd you do it? If it's not too hard to explain.
Takeshi  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 8:30am
a little bit, yes
TheMorpheus 14 Aug, 2019 @ 7:21am
so this is something like gimbaled autocanon form ELITE Dangerous?
epflederer 14 Jun, 2019 @ 9:45am
I hate autocorrect...
epflederer 14 Jun, 2019 @ 9:45am
So I was just testing a variant of the autogatling with increased angles it can rotate to. I was using it as a tail gunner on my biplane and it pulled an Indiana Jones and shot my rudder while I was maneuvering. Needless to say, I had a hard time breathing I was laughing so hard. Thanks again Tajeshi :D
epflederer 13 Jun, 2019 @ 12:38pm
That was the plan. Thank you
Takeshi  [author] 13 Jun, 2019 @ 12:29pm
@epflederer, it is ok, thank you for asking. I think you will use separate subtype IDs so that your parts will have no conflict with this one.
epflederer 13 Jun, 2019 @ 10:54am
I'm putting together plans to revive my spAce Combat mod, and I plan to add new tiers to certain existing parts. I want to use the autogatling as part of the mod, but that means I would want to add a few variants to fit with the other weapons. Is this okay, or do you object. I know this is a longshot, but I figure you miss every shot you dont take
RikeiR 28 Mar, 2019 @ 2:47pm
It went well. Thank you.
Is it possible to install a conveyor door behind the gun?
Takeshi  [author] 28 Mar, 2019 @ 11:04am
On my testworld the system is working fine, please upload your world, so i can check it on your objects and with the mods you are using.
- Please check if the cargo and the gun have the same owner
- is it possible to move it manualy?
Thx

コンベアシステムが機能しておらず給弾できず発砲してくれません。修正をお願いします。

I'd even risk it, because I do not intend to play on a server, I'm using the MOD Reavers script, it can track the grid and the antennas, which allows fights between rival factions, more and less to use the fixed guns, for small drones it just does not work.
Takeshi  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 10:34am
i think it is not difficult. But for me it was a chalenege to find the right direction and rotation for the moving subparts. At the moment i use them only for my Drones because i see much impact to the server. Maybe Keen has to improve the behavior of finding targets for auto turrets. From my side it is not recomende to replace all manual weopons are automated. Dont loose the fun and the risk ;-)
Aggelus 14 Sep, 2018 @ 10:30am
Good morning, friend, would it be very difficult to do the same for the fixed missile launchers?
If all manual launchers were automatic it would be very good.
Starry 8 Aug, 2018 @ 9:44am
pls fur players
jackik 5 Aug, 2018 @ 12:13am
Ah, so before the turret would be moving, locked on and then firing the target would have already moved ouside the cone? That's bad... just like the gattling turrets vs a meteor shower -.-

Has there been anyone that tried to cirumvent that, perhaps like the radar mod from cheeta? He has his radar already know of the possible targets and only checks weither or not to show them.

Keen should make turrets have two different cones, one for targeting and one smaller one for firing. That would potentially solve several issues (while creating some more :P).
Takeshi  [author] 4 Aug, 2018 @ 12:37pm
i mean from the side of the game. Yes speed is adjustable, but the mechanic behind.
jackik 4 Aug, 2018 @ 12:34pm
Oh, so speed is bound to the range? Is it not possible to adjust it separately or rather the percentage of max range travelled per time? (I think i saw modded turrets that could target basically instantly somehow)

Because a very narrow attack field with a high adjust rate would be awesome!
Both with a normal range, but +/- 3 Deg aswell as a very short range, but +/- 20 Deg Gattling gun! Any variation would be very very useful!
Of course, if there was a way to scale from one to the other via slider... That would be the pinical of fixed weapon tech for Dogfights for me personally!
Takeshi  [author] 4 Aug, 2018 @ 10:59am
at the moment not, with +/-3° the auto targeting is also realy slow and maybe the Gun will never shoot.
jackik 4 Aug, 2018 @ 9:28am
Have you thought about releasing this for players? Maybe nerfed a little so it can only target within a +/- 3° range?
Tangent 14 May, 2018 @ 2:30am
This is perfect for a couple things that used the old warbros gimballed guns. Simple and functional and great.
woostyboy 9 May, 2018 @ 2:29pm
Subscribed! Looking forward to trying them.
Nonexistent 8 May, 2018 @ 10:45am
