I'm going in and using code to manually replace the materials on the hands and face when the dye is applied. You should be able to download the mod and peek at the source code for a better idea of what I'm doing, if you want. It is a little more difficult than normal dyes, though. I used a material from the main game for this, but you should be able to use a custom material as well.

After taking a look at this in-game, I can happily say that this dye is absolutely adorable. I admit that the pure white of her skin puts me off a little, mostly because it looks like its glowing when healthy human-looking space children should definitely, probably not be glowing.
