The affliction thing is normal if you're using invalid files for walking / idle animations. It will default to the Afflicted animation file, since it's the first that appears. It'll then stay stuck whatever the last animation pose was.

There's no easy workaround to it. You'd have to either use another hero's idle / walk animation, or make a custom one with special software.

Same issue as everyone else with entering a dungeon, afflicted, but it did fix itself after entering combat. As a combatant, it's roughly as useful as the antiquarian but with much less options in combat, if equipped from scratch you may find a handful of skills that ultimately don't do much, and as with most of the other skills available (outside of some of the camping skills) you'll find that it's much less useful than an antiquarian in combat.

looks great but the sprite in the character tab doesnt move its stiff, when u enter a dungeon the sprite is the affliction sprite and whenever u interact with objects the sprite changes to that interaction sprite and is frozen like that. sounds also dont exist no more

This class looks awesome but I found a small glitch with the sprites when I started a mission with a hypnotist in my party. Lets just say it didnt look at all like it was suppose to. I was all stretched out and had the negative stress symbol behind it. If you could fix this somehow that would be greatly appreciated because im really liking the look of this mod!

Thanks. But I have a problem. I rename files suitable to occultist, change filenames in atlas files, but I have affliction sprite on my characters. In the character menu idle sprite is right, but in dungeon wrong sprite. Is there any conflict in the skel files?

Its okay man, everyone has its priorities. I hope I can give it a walking anim (even if I have to twist some vanilla assets) and a general rework, adapting him to modern DD days, with full coverage on trinkets.

I kinda abandoned the mod after a while and stopped commenting to focus on other projects. I still get notified when comments are made, and I check them, but since I already moved on, commenting would be awkward, and I'm pretty sure everyone would want me to come back and improve it despite me moving on to other mods and being out of practice for so long (even though this is my only DD mod).

I was also worried that I would've worded what I meant poorly, like 'If I say they can make their own version, it'll come out sounding condescending somehow, even though that's not what I'm going for'. I think I was worried it would come out less like giving permission to give it a go and more like I'm getting defensive.

I will do a patch for him, when time allows it. The rework I wrote was when I didnt had full knolowdge of modding, but now I may do some... interesant stuff with the new tools I learned

@all that are interested - I'm probably not gonna be modding Darkest Dungeon again for a long while (If I had money for the animation software, maybe, but it was expensive last I checked). If anyone wants to use this mod as a base for their own version, I don't mind, but I would like to be notified and credit would be appreciated.

I like that you draw some new sprites for priest cultist. That is advantage to make variety skins for other classes, for example occultist. So, can I use your work to create my skin mod for occultist? I will mention you.

A lot of custom classes (For example, Succubs) use forced Protect on enemy as a function. Maybe the author can ask for help from other modder to do that (The official Darkest Dungeon Discord has a section dedicated to modding):

oh. Damn. Sorry I didn't read the first paragraph I skimmed lol. I do think its pretty funny though, really cool class. Although for a character that isn't sopost to do any damage I would think they would be better suited to be 3rd or 4th position instead of having moves in 1st and 2nd.

According to the description in the mod (The first paragraph of the description, as it happens), the creator mentions that they can't create a walking animation for the Hypnotist since they don't have Spine.

Unless you or someone else is willing to create an animation, I wouldn't be so sure they're gonna fix that issue any time soon.

A line for stress_heal_self_stalwart has a "to" that needs an extra "o".
A line for heal_self_vigorous mentions "Placebo". I think that should be "Placebo effect."
one of the lines for mark_self_masochistic misspells "Fresh" as "Freah".
A line for bark_companionship uses "conscience" where "conscious" should be.
Some of the lines for bark_torch_0 are missing the underscore between "torch" and "0". I dunno if that's on purpose or not.
flagellant_brothel_rejection is missing the "to be" in "I need to be punished for that."
A line for UseBalk_depressed misspells "Your" as "You're".

Aside from that, the barks here are genuinely entertaining! I wish other mod makers would make unique normal barks (things like "There was no reward there. Believe me.") Your poking at the fourth wall was especially entertaining to read.

Sadly, a health pool smaller than the Antiquarian's and a complete lack of damage save for one attack makes the Hypnotist a bit hard to level starting out.

@Flamerlaka: the issue comes from missing a walking and idle animation. Unfortunately, because the mod comes from a Monster base, there isn't a walking/idle animation. Trying to copy the battle animation to walking/idle doesn't change anything either. In order to fix it, you'd have to use another hero's walking/idle animation (along with tons of text editing) and carefully add in your class' parts onto the base png and its a LOT of work for something that will ultimately look a little dissappointing unless you invest hours into it.

So theres not really anything that can be done, and in a way it might just be better to leave it as it is

The most common criticism I've seen so far is in the palettes. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I added 4 slightly different versions of the four colors. They should look like 65% greyed out versions of the originals. This should help them blend in better as Darkest Dungeon characters. If you preferred the original 4 colors, don't fret, they're still there if you want to use them.

As for the game crashing, I'm not sure how to look into that and fix it because it never crashed for me after I reworked the 'Lower Guard' ability to what it is now. Sorry that I'm unable to help with that...

A pretty different and positive take on a hero. I have only two critques: 1. There is a visual glitch that appears when starting a quest. It was really funny when I first saw it and you know what, I'd say it's somewhat canon to the character himself. If this isn't intended, however, it's urgent for it to get fixed. 2. The colors are pretty elaborate and bright in comparison to the rest of the characters. My suggestion is to have the character wear a dull and worn out appearence. Then when he attacks, have it be bright again. Regardless, it's an overall great mod! I love it and I love having him in my party.

Should probably darken the colors to match the artstyle coloring. This is a pretty good and balanced class though.
