Agreed. this mod would be pretty much perfect if not for the empty planet thing. I get behind independent systems, but at the time this game took place, even after the change of the Republic to the Empire most of the galaxy was under control of the Empire.

Cool idea but sadly making planets empty makes the game super boring, AI also doesn't expand at the same pace even if the planets are empty..

Anyone know how to make the ai more aggressive? The ai rarely attacks even on hard more. Also how to fix bombing runs? They rarely work.

I found your comments but none of them mentioned a fix, only a workaround that is not a 100% guarantee to work. So no, not lying at all. Again, there is also nothing in the discord as far back as 2021 regarding a fix.

You perhaps need to take a break as you're doing more harm than good to the mod at this point. Your "help" is belittling people actively taking an interest in the mod rather than actually helping.

lol Homie, so you admit you found my comments and were lying earlier. That's fine. Way back when I made the comment you're referring to, I had not fully comprehended the code. The code did, indeed, "look" fine, but as you too have now discovered, it has some issues. I, too, am trying to help people, but I grow tried of answering the same question over and over and over again.

It's a more effective fix than hoping you have a unit around that can deal with the issue. You said yourself you reviewed the code and it seemed ok, which is not the case, please don't be bitter about it I'm just trying to help people.

So went back as far as page 21 on here and there is no comment mentioning a fix for the issue I found. Neither is there any mention of this issue that I could find in any of the discord channels back as far as 2021 so no that question hasn't been answered.

As for an answer for anyone else finding this problem. There are hardpoints in both the Hardpoints_Capital xml and the SpaceUnitsCapital xml for the imlpacable that don't actually appear on the ship in game. This is also a problem for the ISD 3. If you identify the offending hardpoints, (I beleive for the implacable it's the shieldgen hardpoints, and for the ISD 3 it's the Ion cannon hardpoints 1 and 2), you can then delete them from the ships in the above files and they willl function correctly, dying when their hardpoints are destroyed.

Anyone found a way to deal with the Implacable SSD? It has more health than it's hardpoints health total so it ends up becoming unkillable once all the hardpoints are destroyed, but because of how rubbish autoresolve is, even when it is the last thing in the fight with no way to do anything, autoresolving is nearly a guaranteed loss.

Few planets cause game to crash, some ships have no texture, Titan, Corillian battle cruiser and frigate and I think the destroyer, I think the Alliance SD but I cant remember. Some Imp ships have smoke around the hardpoints like they are destroyed but arent. Some planets have open 1-2 base slots. Tie Predators and Tie Droids in hunt mode or attack location dont actually attack enemies they just sit or roam around the map, lastly some if not most ground units ignore enemy turrets

Been playing this game for the last few days and I gotta say this is one of the best mods I have played, has definitely kept my interest. The many units is incredible plus the textures are clean and smooth. Love to see this keep getting updated

Look up Empire at War DATEditor and use that very simple program to alter the in-game text. Corey Loses has an excellent tutorial video involving the use of this program.

Yes. From what info I have scoured the internet for at the time, it was due to 1.) too many planets in the 250 GC in this mod (essentially allowing for too many game objects for the game to keep track of, which is why most mods don't go that big), 2.) hardware limitations of my computer at the time (I've since significantly upgraded), and 3.) data corruption that just seems to, on rare occasion, just sort of happen in this game - even in vanilla.

I will first of all build my self-confidence by playing through the vanilla game on normal and fighting against stronger AIs. After that I will look at the mod again and test different techniques until I find one that suits me. If necessary, first with cheats so that I know how the AI ​​reacts and acts.

First of all I dont think you can say we lack experience, since atleast for me, I am having a very easy time on Hard mode. Secondly, like the other person mentioned I didnt tell you to build up a fleet to take out neutral planets, those can literally be taken by ONE single ground unit. I told you I PERSONALLY build a OP fleet that I know can take out ANY ENEMY (NOT NEUTRAL) planet. I didnt say that was the only way to progress (I am sure there are many ways). I dont really know how to explain you this further, since I have pretty much tried to tell you what to do step by step.

@fouty I feel compelled to assume you are a minor at this point, and I truly mean no offense by this. Read what we have both advised again. Slowly. Carefully. Calmly. I never once told you to take an OP fleet and steamroll other planets. Considering you struggle on Easy mode, which is notorious for being mindnumbingly easy to win - even in this mod - you lack the status to make a claim on anyone else's experience. If you're unwilling to learn, despite frustrations along the way, you are going to struggle at more than just this game. I urge you to take a step back and calmly assess the information you have been given alongside your experiences. I would happily sit alongside you and guide you to a better gameplay experience, but alas, I cannot. Regardless, I wish you better fortune in the future.

@fouty No one said to send your entire fleet to capture neutral planets. You literally on'y need a random single space and ground unit to capture those. Your main fleet should be used defensively most of the time. Forgive me, but I feel compelled to ask. How old are you? You seem to have difficulty reading and understanding things carefully. At this point, I urge you to start over AFTER taking a long break. You are clearly not thinking clearly.

sadly it didnt work, First, as I was ordered, I gathered all my ships into a huge fleet and used it to conquer most of the neutral and enemy planets that were not too heavily defended. I invested all my money in building battle stations, ground defense and research.

Shortly afterwards, the enemy gathered all of his ships into several large fleets and attacked all of my planets. In space, he was far superior to me, but on the ground I was able to defend most of my planets.

Now I no longer have the opportunity to build fleets. Either the enemy has stationed his ships in my orbit or as soon as I build a ship he immediately sends his fleet there. I only have my ground troops left. How can I still win now ?

@fouty Literally, holding what planets you CAN is the best way to survive early game and gain a foothold, even at the cost of some planets. Pick a region of the galactic map to hold (starting with only one until you understand the difference between strategy and tactics). You should be aggressive with tactics; defensive with strategy. At least, until you, again, gain that foothold and therefore the upper hand. You have, as I once did many years ago, a defeatist attitude. Overcome that by taking pride in small victories and learning from every defeat. Understand, too, that a lot of my harder fought victories on the tactical stage take hours. Particularly, if I'm attacked at a weaker planet, I will have to make very slow tactical maneuvers to survive sometimes. However, particularly with defense of weak planets, I always send every single reinforcement unit directly at the enemy to slow them down. Focus on all enemy engines and intercepting as many bombers as you can.

More planets equals better ecnomy. I also tend to build those centers that give you ALOT of money on planets that are not directly on the front/danger zone.

Meanwhile you build up your own fleet (I usually have ONE huge fleet that I fight with). Like we already told you many times you WILL have to micro if you want to win most battles. Once you reach tech level 3/4 you can build shield generators and that makes holding a planet MUCH easier. Basically you shouldent be losing any planets at that point. Lastly instead of just taking random planets look at what planets create chokepoints and what planets have higher space and ground levels. If a planet has lvl 5 space station it is very easy to hold.

Like "The Best We Have" said it is very unlikely that you are facing these ships on tech one since to even build these ships the Black Sun have to be tech level 4/5 (cant remember the exact). Secondly I already gave you the tactic you should be using: First capture all the neutral planets. Tech up should be one of the first things you do. When one tech level is finished researching, start the next at once. On the planets that have high space and ground level (meaning you can build higher tier barracks etc.) you should fortify and just HOLD.

And, for the record, again, you STILL have not actually told me the tactics you use in a battle. So, as far as I can gather at this point, you're just giving up without actually trying and thinking clearly. That is a surefire way to lose every battle.
