@Jareth - worked like a charm, thank you for this. We needed this for a particular use case. FYI - I tried to use the spawn code that someone provided in another forum, but when I did, I couldn't get it to register the ground or snap points. I almost uninstalled the mod at this point. However, when I just manually made the canvas, it was working fine for me.
@Daggeira - I see that you have a similar question in another canvas mod posted around the same time.I believe the issue that you are experiencing isn't the fault of this mod. If you haven't gotten this working yet and wanted to drop me a line on Steam, I could try to help you.
MyPaintings folder is located in your save file folder. Ark/shootergame/saved/MyPaintings . Not in server files. Server paintings cache is something else and in server files. We don't need it.
If you don't see MyPaintings folder, you should go in game and create a painting in there, any painting, stick figure or something and save it. Taking picture with in game camera also creates this folder (i think?). In this folder add your pictures with _Sign_WarMap_Retextured_C.pnt end. Camera pictures are needed to convert with Ark Paint converter to correctly show on big painting canvas (warmap) but look terrible. Play around with converter setting or just take screenshot and convert it.
There is NO "my paintings" folder whatsoever in ANY of my game files, server or otherwise. I've looked. I even poked around in the folders the mod is installed to, and no dice. There's a "server paintings cache" folder (I'm guessing the name was changed during an update after your mod was created), but the modded canvasses won't load from there, even though they're legitimate images taken with the in-game camera. I figured I'd try to make it work with those before trying the converter as the files already exist in the correct format, and honestly, I want the in-game pictures more anyway. If there was a specific place to add said folder, I would, but it doesn't exist on its own.
If you use Ark paint converter tool you need to replace the object name with (Name Of Your Painting) _Sign_WarMap_Retextured_C.pnt
If you have done all these steps already and paintings doesn't show up. I don't frankly know what the problem is. You say it doesn't load any painting in your server but does it work in single player? If so then the problem is on server end some where. I hope this helps.
Step by step:
1. Go to image converter and choose image
2. On drop down menu on right-> choose Human&Warmap so resolution changes to 512x512.
3 .Choose colors etc...
4. Save as .pnt (exampleImage.pnt)
5. Rename as Example.Image_Sign_WarMap_Retextured_C.pnt (picture name and then
_Sign_WarMap_Retextured_C.pnt )
6. Go to Ark files -> my paintings and drop it there.
7.Done
