Nice test chamber! It was very difficult at parts (and even more so when my laptop decided to lag more than it ever has before at 5) but we managed it. It was incredibly fun! Also, my partner decided to jump around the room at the end and got halfway. Was that a FrankenTurret in the room at the end? If so, nice little easter egg!

@Black Edition' Thanks a lot for your nice comment! Hope you had a good time puzzling through it!

This is probably the most challenging coop map I've ever played! Good job mate! This truly deserves more popularity and to be at the top of the highest rated/voted maps.

@Vebsters Glad you enjoyed it! Always happy when I see that my coop maps are still played since there are almost no new hammer made coop maps anymore. Thank you!

One of the most competetive maps ever made.
Loved it!

Yop.
Your map is pretty good (and hard). But actually I contact you for another problem. I tried the cheat "ss_map mp_coop_night_turn_v1" (it was for another map but I tried with yours too) and it doesn't work. I can play coop alone with official maps but not with customs.
Do you know a way to make it works ?

Sure add it :) I made walkthrough because your chamber is really amazing,
I lack words to describe how I like your testchamber. I want more :)

@..:: ShadowMan.pl ::.. Many thanks to you! That's a nice walkthrough! If it is okay for you, I would like to add your walkthrough to "Videos" of this map. Many thanks again!

AWESOME Chamber, and very hard :) good job
Luunatique 20 Apr, 2013 @ 3:29am
@Zorxon We may try it again at some point, it's a shame we couldn't get past Chamber 3. I wanted to do the rest of it. But thanks! :)
Zorxon  [author] 20 Apr, 2013 @ 1:11am
@PhantomRae Hmm... I'm wondering why it obviously didn't work in the way it should in your case. When I tested it, I always kept the portal above the faith plate in the same angle and then just enter the faith plate from the top. That always allowed me to land in the middle of the second walkway.
But I'll keep a look on it again, maybe I can find something to make it a bit easier to get up.
Luunatique 19 Apr, 2013 @ 5:32pm
@Zorxon Yeah, we worked out the button and the faith plate pretty quickly. We tried going in at so many different angles on the faith plate, even going so far as to angle our portals, as the way you exit them can slow you down somewhat, but we never found it. I guess we should have kept trying, but we'd been doing that one chamber for 20 minutes flat. It didn't help we had to do the first chamber again since I fizzled all the chairs for fun... xD
Zorxon  [author] 19 Apr, 2013 @ 3:39pm
@PhantomRae But you found out about the faith plate and the button? That's good. For your problem: The whole test chamber is like a faith-plate test (literally). The second thing you will find out in this map about faith plates is, that according to site from where you entered the faith plate, your speed and direction changes. So for getting up on the walkway, you simply need to enter the faith plate from the top, the left or the right.
Anyway, thanks for the nice comment! :)

It was a really nice map idea, and my partner and I really enjoyed what we played of it, but we got to Chamber 3 and we just couldn't get past because the landing walkway where you launch yourself to wasn't lined up right. We kept too far to land on it. We tried so many times for so long, but eventually we had to give up.

@ThisJustGotBrad Wow. That screenshot is amazing, but no, that's definetly not intended ;). The intention is to use only two portals for the last catcher. Get up to where you got the cube, and then the player who is up there places one portal below him to get the laser. Then put the cube on the "ceiling" (which is not straight), so the cube redirects the laser downwards. But your solution is amazing ;)

And for the height: You misunderstood what I wrote. Try this: Player 1 places his portals above the faith plate and the other one on the ceiling of the loop. Player 2 places his first portal below Player 1's second portal (floor of the loop). And then he places his second portal below the button. And now, when the portals are set, try the faith plate out again. And yes, it is intended that Player 1 will lose his portals cause he will fly through the fizzler.

@Zorxon Here's a screenshot of chamber two. Was this right?
Stix 17 Apr, 2013 @ 12:52pm
@Zorxon We tried what you described. There wasn't a height differance. If you set a portal above the faith plate and below the button and fall through the portal below the button onto the faith plate you gain no extra height than you would by just walking onto the faith plate Maybe lower the button just by one block or increase the power of the faith plate a bit to fix this.

@ThisJustGotBrad Wow! That's a long text, but I need to say... THANK YOU! It's good to know how players try to solve the puzzle (it's hard to judge the puzzle as the map maker) and what the problems are. Although I gave a few hints in the faith-plate chamber (look at the textures and overlays), I expected that the loop would be used most of times. This is one the "actions you normally do not need to do" (description). Instead, it is possible to longer faith-plate shoots (surprisingly) by placing the second portal on a ceiling and one below. Then the fall distance between ceiling and floor is added and you fly higher. I found it one somewhen and used it as a test element. Again, thank you! It's a good inspiration for me, and I'm sorry for points you mentioned you dislike.

@Zorxon My original comment was way too long. So I put it on a google docs file. Take a look if you're interested, it's fairly lengthy My concerns [docs.google.com] Just reply back in the comments if you want to address anything.
Zorxon  [author] 16 Apr, 2013 @ 2:48pm
@thomas.mobil If it the way into the testchamber... Use one of the chairs or the disc and throw it against the glass (where the holes are). If it is about the testchamber itself... You need to activate a laser AND a button to disable an emancipation grid. Do it three times to get this disc up. I hope this helps you ;)
thomas.mobil 16 Apr, 2013 @ 2:42pm
We stuck at disc pickup, no idea how to get to the next room. Lost patience...
Zorxon  [author] 16 Apr, 2013 @ 2:31pm
@ThisJustGotBrad Why? Because of the map picture? Or did you play it and dislike the design at all? If it is the second... what can I improve then? Any ideas? Without examples and just statements I can't improve my mapping-skills. An answer on these questions would be nice.
Stix 16 Apr, 2013 @ 2:10pm
Seems like poor level design.
