While I love the idea, I do think the implementation is a tap OP. You could build this in a system with a single +2 asteroid in it and get 100 minerals for the cost. The building is also a tad on the cheap side comparative to other mega structures.
I suggest increasing the cost of the structure considerably to offset the production capability or changing it so that the station shows all deposits as mined (Leaves them on the asteroid) and applying as 50-100% increase in mineral production. Makes the station a bit less overpowered, but equally as useful.
AI also seems to like them. They build this stations everywhere. :) And Fallen Empires seems to have a few of them from the beginning.
