Thanks a lot! Pressing map button 5 times just to check where to go freaks me out

Hi Fourmisain.

Have you confirmed that your Map Overlay setting is set to max?
i.e. all the way to the Right on the setting bar?

I thought I was having the same issue/bug as you for quite a few days until I realised that it was due to this setting being too low, and me being unable to actually see the map changes.

Hopefully this helps :)

Part 2/2:
This can happen if you toggled the map visibility off in vanilla and switched to the mod, or you can even break the map while having this mod installed:
Press the "Automap" key until there is no map. Press the "Map Visiblity" key. That's it, the map is gone, forever. For some reason, the "Map Visiblity" key sets AUTOMAP_VISIBLE to 0 in this case, but it never sets it to 1.

Personally I wouldn't use this mod, because a centered map plus the "Map Visibility" key is enough for me (that way it's just like in Diablo II), but it is part of Torchlight II Essentials, so I can't really avoid it. I'm actually surprised that I'm the only one complaining about this; the "Map Visibility" key sure is an unknown art?

Sorry for the wall of text! Just wanted to let you know, in detail, that there is a problem with this mod.

Part 1/2:
This mod introduces a bug; it breaks the "Map Visibility" key, which can break the map completely.
In vanilla TL2 you can switch the map layout (top right, centered, left, right, no map) by pressing the "Automap" key and you can toggle the map visibility by pressing the "Map Visibility" key (which many people don't seem to know exists...).

Technical foreword: The map layout corresponds to the "AUTOMAP" setting in "settings.txt", while map visibility corresponds to the "AUTOMAP_VISIBLE" setting. You can view the current game setting by going in the option menu and hitting "Apply"; this will write the "settings.txt".

When having this mod installed, the "Map Visibility" key doesn't toggle the map visibility, and it's even worse: Whenever AUTOMAP_VISIBLE is set to 0, you have no ingame way whatsoever to re-enable the map again! The only way to re-enable it is either to run the game without the mod, toggling the map visible, or by manually setting "AUTOMAP_VISIBLE :1".

added this to my rt improvement cluster , and I have to say, Jeffrey Bison is right, this is a killer feature

I hit subscribe as soon as I read "Will toggle minimap and fullscreen map." Awesome work.

Thank you! This mod is perfect for those big maps when you just want to check how far the gold chest/objective/waypoint is.

If you ask me, it should have been part of the vanilla game already.

This is awesome. i didnt realize how crazy hitting the map key 4 times was making me until i saw this mod
SC6 13 Jun, 2013 @ 7:31pm
Thank you so so so much. Seriously. The minimap has been bothering me so much in this game.
zParticle 25 Apr, 2013 @ 3:40pm
Yup, all sorted. Nice work!
DAOWAce 25 Apr, 2013 @ 3:20pm
Oh, so this was the mod doing that?

I accused another; whoops. Was strange because it only started happening after I installed that mod (bagmod lite), which also stopped 'no side buttons' from working..

I can confirm the update fixed the issue.

Thanks for reporting. I fixed it now. Can you check is that bug still happening?
zParticle 25 Apr, 2013 @ 10:19am
The new layout file appears to introduce a bug. If I open a dialog with someone near a pulsating quest marker the map is drawn behind the dialog and the quest marker bleeds through so you see it pulsating on top of the conversation. I believe the map should be hidden when dialogs are up. (I had UI scaling set to 90% in case that matters.)

Before this mod was using automap.layout file for add keybinds (it is minimap mod file).
Now i created new layout file instead use existing ui layout file.
Before you can't use mod which modifies minimap because it will be conflict but now it won't be issue.
So last update makes this mod compatible with every mods.

Mod appears to have been updated today.

Can we get a changelog of what's been changed/fixed?
Mr. Dingleberry 13 Apr, 2013 @ 3:38pm
Simplest and greatest mod ever... But, honestly no reason why this even needed to be made. Gigantic Runic brainfart with that map key spam.
Drumstix42 12 Apr, 2013 @ 7:04pm
One word. Hawt.
Jaggid Edje 12 Apr, 2013 @ 5:25pm
Freaking brilliant! Thank you very much for this. Hitting the button 4 times all the time drove me nuts.
