So I finally created a Windows7 VM, from my SDD from last year.... it runs atleast.
Similar thing happened back in the day, going from Windows 2000 - XP - Vista. Every time a new version of Windows came out 3DS Max would have some stupid issue. Which is why I say, just move to Blender.
I still might move to blender though, I'm shit at rigging and I hear there's tools over there.
...what da fawk is google?
Ask me if I tried turning it off and on again...oH! $#IT!
MY COMPUTER WAS UNPLUGGED THE WHOLE TIME!
Thanks for the tip man! You really gotta check these things, sometimes, when trouble shooting. It can be the one thing you're not thinking of.
It's what I was using for these models, but my Windows 7 PC blew out a transistor, this fall, and I needed buy a whole new Motherboard/System, and I was unfortunately forced to use Windows 10 - Which cannot run the version of 3DS Max that I have (from the time before Autodesk started their "subscription service")
There is also a much better model importer that was made, more recently for Blender.
Which I am attmpting to... slowly (job and IRL stuff)... learn Blender and re-apply what I know to it.
When I started learning 3dsMax; Blender was in it's very early stages, but I wish I would have started using it then...hindsight is a beech.
If anyone is looking into 3d-model making these days - use Blender it's free.
Don't waste your time with 3DS Max unless you absolutely have to (for like a job, or college; unless they all started using Blender, now).
I've tried porting this for my own use, but I've not been able to get rid of the big red ERRORs that keep cropping up in it.
According to the description, everything is included in the map download for gmod, but when porting it to SFM, it comes up with stuff missing.
I don't know if the decompile is screwing it up or what, but that's where I'm at with it...
There's one for GMod. Might simply load up if you copy it over to SFM....

I kinda thought you'd seen one somewhere else that was available for SFM, my bad.
As far as your port goes, I prefer good quality models over the some of the 'crap' that gets uploaded to the workshop, so believe me when I say, take your time. I'd rather have to wait a while for a high-quality model than get something that was basically ported just for the sake of porting it with no pride taken in it's quality.
I was talking about the backlog of stuff I have yet to port. It exists (in SWG, unported) but not for SFM, that I'm aware of, right now.
I'll probably get around to it eventually, since some of the textures from this are used in the YT-1300. But it will still take some time, since I prefer things to be in the best possible quality, when I port them over.
Unless there is one that exists from 2015 Battlefront/BFII or something. In which case I'd prefer not to port something that already exists in higher quality.
There is??
Any chance that you have a link to it or know where it is located?
I'd love to have a Falcon with an interior.
It...could work but the layout is a bit different. There's already an interior for the YT-1300....
The two ships are of similar design, so theoretically, the interior should fit a Falcon model as long as they are both the same scale.
Just a thought...
While, I'm at it, I might even add the alternate Engines/Boosters, but considering I'm already hitting the texture limit on the chassis, with all the skins, that may end up being a sperate model that you'll have to bonemerge.
Hopefully shouldn't mess up any animations (should only be as simple as loading a new model - then copy/paste the animation to the new model) this won't affect the interior model.
